Oxide‐Free Titanium Coatings by Wire Arc Spraying in a Silane‐Doped Inert Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A silane‐doped argon atmosphere enables the production of oxide‐free titanium coatings via twin‐wire arc spraying at ambient pressure. This innovative approach eliminates residual oxygen, creating process conditions that prevent oxidation and nitride formation.

Dynamical behavior of fractionalized simply supported beam: An application of fractional operators to Bernoulli-Euler theory

open access: yesNonlinear Engineering, 2021
The complex structures usually depend upon unconstrained and constrained simply supported beams because the passive damping is applied to control vibrations or dissipate acoustic energies involved in aerospace and automotive industries.

An analytical model of layered continuous beams with partial interaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Starting with the geometrically non-linear formulation and the subsequent linearization, this paper presents a consistent formulation of the exact mechanical analysis of geometrically and materially linear three-layer continuous planar beams.

On the Influence of Antioxidants and Recycled MgO–C Source Material on the Mechanical Properties of Carbon‐Bonded Magnesia Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The presented study focuses on the fracture behaviour of carbon‐bonded magnesia MgO–C refractories, where environmentally friendly fructose, collagen and lignin serve as temporary binding agents. The partial substitution of the source material with recycled MgO–C reduces the fracture resistance, which can be counteracted by the additional introduction ...

Vibration Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Simply Supported Beam versus Variation Temperature

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2017
It is well known that temperature has great influence on modal characteristics of bridges. The relationship between them has been studied by using statistical mathematics, numerical analysis, and field’s monitoring methods, which have relatively narrow ...

Al–Cu Composite Casting of Laser‐Deoxidized Copper: Bonding, Interfacial Chemistry, and Thermal Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser‐based oxide removal of Cu inserts in oxygen‐free conditions and examines long‐term oxidation kinetics and surface chemistry under different atmospheres via X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Al–Cu compound casting with differently oxidized surfaces is performed, and intermetallic phase formation, morphology, and thermal ...

EVALUATION OF SPECIFIC METHODS TO DETECT CRACK AND DAMAGE OF MECHANICAL BEAM STRUCTURES USING FREE VIBRATION ANALYSIS

open access: yesJournal of Engineering
The importance of the beam in the service of our life and how the damaged beam costly influence the economy and even endanger the human life itself, draws our attention to study the specific methods to detect crack and damage by using free vibration ...

Numerical study of size-dependent instability of nems considering molecular force and elastic support conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Nano-electromechanical systems (NEMS) sensors are recently used as powerful medical detectors for detection of disease. In this research paper, the modified couple stress non-classic continuum theory is applied to examine the size effect on the pull-in ...
