Surface degradation study of magnesium tested in simulated body fluid

Bio-Medical Materials and Engineering, 2019
Magnesium has attracted a lot of attention as a new class of biodegradable material. The surface properties of magnesium in simulated body fluid (SBF) were investigated in the current research work. Cast magnesium samples with different surface characteristics were prepared which were then placed in SBF for 2, 4 and 8 days. This led to the formation of

Parameters Of Protein Delivery Using Hydroxyapatite In Simulated Body Fluid

Proceedings of the 17th Southern Biomedical Engineering Conference, 2005
Various studies have been conducted using hydroxyapatite (HA) to deliver therapeutic drugs over a long period of time. However, the rate of drug release from ceramics varies tremendously. Thus a study was designed to observe the effect of particle size, pressure, drug ratio, and the addition of a zinc stearate binder on the release of BSA from ceramics.

Reactivity of plasma‐sprayed wollastonite coating in simulated body fluid

Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 2001
AbstractWe incubated wollastonite coatings prepared with plasma spraying in simulated body fluids for different periods to investigate the reactivity. The surface structures of wollastonite coatings immersed in simulated body fluids were analyzed with scanning electron microscopy, Auger electron spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy.

Simulation of Interaction Between Fluid and Deformable Bodies

2015
Based on the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) and Finite Element Method (FEM) model, we propose a method for real-time simulation of fluid with deformable bodies. The two-way coupling method for the fluid with deformable bodies is processed by the ray-traced collision detection method instead of the ghost particles.

Simulation of Billiards and of Hard Body Fluids

2000
Recent computer simulations have contributed significantly to our understanding of the Lyapunov instability of hard particle systems in equilibrium and in nonequilibrium steady states. We discuss a very general method for the computation of the full Lyapunov spectra and apply it to billiards and to many-body hard disk and hard sphere systems.
