Functional simulation in the lamp system

The proceedings of the thirteenth design automation conference on Design automation - DAC '76, NO. 13, 1976
The effective use of simulation for logic verification and test evaluation frequently requires simulation capabilities at different levels of detail. This paper discusses the functional level simulation capability in the LAMP system at Bell Laboratories and its relation to gate level simulation.

Simulating Stochastic Activation Functions

2013 IEEE International Conference on Green Computing and Communications and IEEE Internet of Things and IEEE Cyber, Physical and Social Computing, 2013
The article discusses the benefits of stochastic load activation in the context of demand-side management for energy-aware building management systems. We describe our model and report on results from simulations investigating the trade-off between quality of service and peak reduction as well as the ability to prioritise activation in times of ...

An integrated functional performance simulator

IEEE Micro, 1999
Microprocessor designers use multiple simulation tools with varying degrees of modeling details ranging from the instruction set of the microprocessor to the circuit implementation. We focus on tool design for the development of microarchitectures, which implement the instruction set.

The SimCore/Alpha Functional Simulator

Proceedings of the 2004 workshop on Computer architecture education held in conjunction with the 31st International Symposium on Computer Architecture - WCAE '04, 2004
We have developed a function-level processor simulator, SimCore/Alpha Functional Simulator Version 2.0 (SimCore Version 2.0), for processor architecture research and processor education. This paper describes the design and implementation of SimCore Version 2.0.

The Simulated Emergence of Chord Function

2021
In this paper, we propose an autonomous, unsupervised learning of chord classification, based on the Neural Hidden Markov Model (HMM), and extend it to the Semi-Makov Model (HSMM) to integrate such additional contexts as the pitch-class histogram, the beat positions, and the preceding chord sequences.

Multivariable function generation for simulations

Proceedings of the May 16-18, 1972, spring joint computer conference on - AFIPS '72 (Spring), 1971
The purpose of this paper is to describe the mechanization of a technique for generating continuous functions of up to six variables, given a discrete set of experimental data points. This technique is currently being applied in a real-time simulation of a high performance missile.

Functional level simulation at Raytheon

Proceedings of the seventeenth design automation conference on Design automation - DAC '80, 1980
Raytheon has enhanced its gate level simulation system (GRASS) to include a functional level simulation capability. This paper describes the features of the Functional Description Language (FDL), implementation features, recent results, and future plans for the system.

Mirroring versus simulation: on the representational function of simulation

Synthese, 2011
Mirror neurons and systems are often appealed to as mechanisms enabling mindreading, i.e., understanding other people’s mental states. Such neural mirroring processes are often treated as instances of mental simulation rather than folk psychological theorizing.
