Functional Simulation methodes

2016 12th IEEE International Symposium on Electronics and Telecommunications (ISETC), 2016
This paper present an overview of the Functional Simulation methods starting from the late 90's until present. In the following chapters the evolution of Functional Simulation methodology due to increasing design complexity is presented.

Ambiguity function simulator

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1975
It is shown that the magnitude of the ambiguity function can be easily displayed on a spectrum analyzer. The technique used employs delay lines operating only on the modulation waveform. Examples of measured ambiguity functions are given for FM sine waves. These results are shown to be in agreement with theory.

Simulation of distributed functions

Mathematics and Computers in Simulation, 1992
Abstract Increasing numbers of multiprocessor systems and network structures are used to solve problems that have not yet been solvable with sufficient accuracy. Special features are necessary for tools that are used for evaluating the performance of modelling and simulation systems for distributed functions and systems.

On the Simulation of Discontinuous Functions

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2001
Discontinuous function constraints arise during the calculation of surface contact, stiction, and friction effects in studies of the behavior of complex systems. These nonlinear effects are mathematically defined by inequality constraints of the form 0⩾gxt,t. The unknown in the problem is the time, t*, when the equality condition is reached. This paper

To simulate or not to simulate: A problem of minimising functional logical depth

1995
I define a new measure of complexity called functional logical depth and apply the measure to specify the levels of description at which, for the purposes of creating artificial life, it may be most appropriate to simulate the temporal evolution of classes of real living organisms.

Multilevel functional simulation

SIMULATION, 1975
This paper presents a modification to the functional simulation technique which allows the user to perform simulations of systems at increasing levels of detail by making only minimal changes in the description of the system. Functional simulation is easy to imple ment because the functional simulation model defines all the system control parameters ...
