Role of Surface Texture on Workpiece Angular Deformation in Cross Wedge Rolling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The cross wedge rolling process is commonly used for the manufacturing of shaft or for preforms, being used for preliminary operation of forming cycle.

Integration of a failure monitoring within a hybrid dynamic simulation environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The complexity and the size of the industrial chemical processes induce the monitoring of a growing number of process variables. Their knowledge is generally based on the measurements of system variables and on the physico-chemical models of the process.

Nanoscopic Mapping of the Extracellular Space in Amyloid Plaque‐rich Cortex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 1, 5 January 2026.
The extracellular space and diffusion around amyloid plaques are examined using shadow imaging and single‐particle tracking. Increased diffusivity is found near plaques, extracellular matrix alterations, and plaque core penetrability that varies with amyloid phenotype.

Physical Processes Driving Carbon Subduction in the Southern Ocean in an Eddy‐Permitting Model

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract The Southern Ocean south of 35°S represents a small source of natural inorganic carbon for the atmosphere but a major sink of anthropogenic carbon. The magnitude of the inorganic carbon sink, and the sequestration of inorganic and organic carbon strongly depend on the rate at which they are subducted below the mixed layer.

Evaluation of a gate capacitance in the sub-aF range for a chemical field-effect transistor with a silicon nanowire channel

open access: yes, 2011
An evaluation of the gate capacitance of a field-effect transitor (FET) whose channel length and width are several ten nanometer, is a key point for sensors applications. However, experimental and precise evaluation of capacitance in the aF range or less

Neural Networks for Space Debris Classification

open access: yesExpert Systems, Volume 43, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Significant research in the field of space domain awareness (SDA) has focused on improving AI‐driven data processing and classification tasks. Previous studies have explored the classification of orbiting man‐made object types such as satellites, rocket bodies, and debris, yet there is a noticeable gap in the literature concerning the ...

A probabilistic diagnostic for Laplace approximations: Introduction and experimentation

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, Volume 53, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Many models require integrals of high‐dimensional functions: for instance, to obtain marginal likelihoods. Such integrals may be intractable, or too expensive to compute numerically. Instead, we can use the Laplace approximation (LA). The LA is exact if the function is proportional to a normal density; its effectiveness therefore depends on ...
