POVERTY MACRO SYSTEM DYNAMICS MODELING BASED ON SIMULTANEOUS EQUATIONS MODELS

open access: yesBarekeng
Poverty factors are multidimensional and complex. Currently, to predict the number of people living below the poverty line using the concept of linear thinking.

Allometric equations to estimate above-ground biomass of small-diameter mixed tree species in secondary tropical forests

open access: yesiForest - Biogeosciences and Forestry, 2020
Accounting for small-size tree biomass is critical to improve total stand biomass estimates of secondary tropical forests, and is essential to quantify their vital role in mitigating climate change.

Simultaneous Optimization of an IGCC Process with Equation-Oriented Methods

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2021
Simultaneous optimization of process flowsheets using equation-oriented (EO) methods is a promising alternative to simulation studies. With the use of EO methods, simultaneous optimization of all process units including heat integration can be performed ...

Nonparametric Estimation of Triangular Simultaneous Equations Models [PDF]

open access: yesEconometrica, 1999
Summary: This paper presents a simple two-step nonparametric estimator for a triangular simultaneous equation model. Our approach employs series approximations that exploit the additive structure of the model. The first step comprises the nonparametric estimation of the reduced form and the corresponding residuals.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

On the Interpretation of Instrumental Variables in the Presence of Specification Errors

open access: yesEconometrics, 2015
The method of instrumental variables (IV) and the generalized method of moments (GMM), and their applications to the estimation of errors-in-variables and simultaneous equations models in econometrics, require data on a sufficient number of instrumental ...

Programming Identification Criteria in Simultaneous Equation Models [PDF]

open access: yesComputational Economics, 2014
Examining the identification problem in the case of a linear econometric model can be a tedious task. The rank and order conditions are commonly used in identification for simultaneous equations models. The order condition of identifiability is an easy condition to compute, though maybe difficult to remember.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
