Simultaneous pattern recognition and track fitting by the Kalman filtering method

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1990
Abstract A progressive pattern recognition algorithm based on the Kalman filtering method has been tested. The algorithm starts from a small track segment or from a fitted track of a neighbouring detector, then extends the candidate tracks by adding measured points one by one. The fitted parameters and weight matrix of the candidate track are updated

Simultaneous transmission/emission imaging for SPECT using energy spectrum fitting

Proceedings of 1994 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium - NSS'94, 1995
Energy information is used to generate emission (/sup 99m/Tc, E/spl gamma/=140 keV) and transmission (/sup 57/Co, E/spl gamma/=122 keV) images from a combined projection data set. These components are separated from each other and from Compton scatter by fitting the spectra at each pixel with a simple model.

Fitting a Single Active Appearance Model Simultaneously to Multiple Images

Procedings of the British Machine Vision Conference 2004, 2004
Active Appearance Models (AAMs) are a well studied 2D deformable model. One recently proposed extension of AAMs to multiple images is the CoupledView AAM. Coupled-View AAMs model the 2D shape and appearance of a face in two or more views simultaneously.

Considerations in simultaneous curve fitting for repeated height–diameter measurements

Canadian Journal of Forest Research, 1994
The problem of fitting height–diameter curves for repeated measurements on growth plots is addressed. The context of the problem is fitting historical data with varying sampling protocols and varying measurement accuracy. A key consideration is obtaining good estimates of top height and top-height increment.

Dual Fit: The simultaneous Effects of Intrapersonal and Interpersonal Regulatory Fit on Motivation

Academy of Management Proceedings, 2019
This paper introduces the concept of dual fit, which represents the simultaneous occurrence of intrapersonal and interpersonal regulatory fit.

Use of Simultaneous Computer Fitting to Estimate the Apparent Absorption Rate Constant

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1986
In this study we explored an alternative approach to specifically determine the apparent absorption rate constant (ka) and the initial disposition macro-rate constant (alpha) without intravenous dose data. Data sets were simulated with ka values in a range of +/- 70% of alpha.

Advances in population synthesis: fitting many attributes per agent and fitting to household and person margins simultaneously

Transportation, 2011
Agent-based microsimulation models of transportation, land use or other socioeconomic processes require an initial synthetic population derived from census data, conventionally created using the iterative proportional fitting (IPF) procedure. This paper introduces a novel computational method that allows the synthesis of many more attributes and finer ...
