The selection and effective utilization of peak-fitting software for conventional gamma-ray spectrum analysis is significant for accurate determination of the mass fraction of elements, particularly in complex peak regions.

Abstract Understanding how environmental change affects genetic variances and covariances of reproductive traits is key to formulate firm predictions on evolutionary responses. This is particularly true for sex‐specific variance in reproductive success, which has been argued to affect how populations can adapt to environmental change.

Combined approaches to flexible fitting and assessment in virus capsids undergoing conformational change [PDF]
Fitting of atomic components into electron cryo-microscopy (cryoEM) density maps is routinely used to understand the structure and function of macromolecular machines.

Modelo dinámico de crecimiento de bosques de Picea abies (L.) Karst. enAlemania
In the present study a dynamic stand growth model for Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) forests was developed from data of 99 research plots, which had been measured between one and seventeen times in northwestern and southern Germany.

THE GOODNESS OF SIMULTANEOUS FITS IN ISIS
In a previous work, we introduced a tool for analyzing multiple datasets simultaneously, which has been implemented into ISIS. This tool was used to fit many spectra of X-ray binaries. However, the large number of degrees of freedom and individual datasets raise an issue about a good measure for a simultaneous fit quality.

Simultaneous fitting of X-ray and neutron diffuse scattering data [PDF]
Conventional crystallographic refinement uses the Bragg-peak intensities and gives the single-site average crystal structure. Information about short-range order and local order is contained in the diffuse scattering that is distributed throughout reciprocal space. Models of the short-range order in materials can now be automatically refined.

Fitness Consequences of Reciprocally Asymmetric Hybridization between Simultaneous Hermaphrodites [PDF]
Depending on fitness consequences, hybridization may rescue Inbred populations; generate premating barriers, reproductive Interference, or hybrid species; or extinguish a species. However, the fitness of hybrids is unpredictable without direct quantification of their performance in fitness components across multiple generations.

Fitting interrelated datasets: metabolite diffusion and general lineshapes. [PDF]
OBJECTIVE Simultaneous modeling of true 2-D spectroscopy data, or more generally, interrelated spectral datasets has been described previously and is useful for quantitative magnetic resonance spectroscopy applications.

Goodness of Fit Tests for Simultaneous Autoregressive Series
Summary The simplified method of derivation of Quenouille’s (1947) goodness of fit test for an autoregressive stationary series with discrete time, given by Bartlett and Diananda (1950), is extended in the present paper to the case of simultaneous autoregressive series, for which some interesting new features arise.

Weighing the ocean with bottom-pressure sensors: robustness of the ocean mass annual cycle estimate [PDF]
We use ocean bottom-pressure measurements from 17 tropical sites to determine the annual cycle of ocean mass. We show that such a calculation is robust, and use three methods to estimate errors in the mass determination.
