Wideband, scanning array for simultaneous transmit and receive

2018 International Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society Symposium (ACES), 2018
We present a low profile wideband spiral antenna array with high transmit/receive (Tx/Rx) isolation and beam steering capability for simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR) systems. STAR increases a channel's spectral efficiency by transmitting and receiving across the full bandwidth of a channel.

Simultaneous transmit and receive with digital phased arrays

2016 IEEE International Symposium on Phased Array Systems and Technology (PAST), 2016
A new architecture is proposed for achieving Simultaneous Transmit and Receive (STAR) with a digital phased array. We demonstrate how digital beamforming and cancellation enables adjacent transmitting and receiving sub-arrays to operate simultaneously in the same frequency band without a significant reduction in performance.

Wideband Monostatic Simultaneous Transmit and Receive (STAR) Antenna

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2016
A monostatic ultra-wideband simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR) antenna subsystem is introduced. An inherent geometrical symmetry of a four-arm spiral antenna and feeding rearrangement are exploited to achieve the simultaneous transmit (TX) and receive (RX) functionalities without any time, polarization, or frequency multiplexing.

Simultaneous Transmit and Receive Spiral Antenna With Improved Isolation

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2020
A wideband, monostatic simultaneous transmit and receive cocircularly-polarized spiral antenna with improved isolation is discussed. The topology with four arms is configured such that the opposite pairs of arms are used for transmit (TX) and receive (RX).

Active Excitation Tuning for Simultaneous Transmit and Receive Antennas

2020 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and North American Radio Science Meeting, 2020
We present an actively tuned balun to enable Simultaneous Transmit and Receive (STAR) antennas to achieve greater isolation. Specifically, for the first time, we propose placing an active chip into the balun feed to control the amplitude and phase of the current density.

Wideband simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR) circular array system

2016 IEEE International Symposium on Phased Array Systems and Technology (PAST), 2016
A wideband simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR) dual-layer circular array is considered to handle the space limitation and efficient use of wireless spectrum. The proposed STAR aperture configuration is composed of upper- and lower-layer circular arrays, where one works as transmitting and the other as receiving antenna. Each array consists of four

Simultaneous Transmit And Receive with a small planar array

2012 IEEE/MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2012
A small three element linear planar array designed to have high isolation between elements for Simultaneous Transmit And Receive (STAR) is demonstrated. This high isolation is achieved through use of tunable resonators that control the near fields of the array without detrimentally affecting the radiated fields.

Self-interference Cancellation for Simultaneous Transmit and Receive Applications

2019 20th International Radar Symposium (IRS), 2019
As the demand for frequency spectrum increases with new technological advancements in radar and communications, the frequency spectrum is becoming increasingly limited and overcrowded. This is driving research in Simultaneous Transmit and Receive (STAR) systems as there is a growing need for systems with higher spectral efficiency. Conventional systems

High-Rejection RF Code Domain Receivers for Simultaneous Transmit and Receive Applications

IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 2020
Code-domain signal processing techniques implemented at radio frequencies (RFs) enable simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR) applications. With direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) techniques and RF correlators, transmit (TX) self-interference (SI) is separated from the receive (RX) signal at the antenna interface for STAR.

Broadband monostatic simultaneous transmit and receive reflector antenna system

2017 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2017
A broadband reflector antenna with monostatic simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR) capability is introduced. The proposed antenna operates over 4–8GHz with VSWR 21dBic (with a maximum gain of 28dBic @ 8GHz), and high isolation. A dual-polarized coaxial cavity antenna is designed and used as reflector feed.
