The Effect of Photoisomerization on the Antioxidant Properties of Sinapic Acid and Methyl Sinapate in Different Solvents: A DFT/TD-DFT Study

open access: yesAntioxidants
The impact of photoisomerization on antioxidant properties holds significant implications for fields such as medicine, chemistry, and consumer products. This investigation employs multistate complete active space second-order perturbation theory (MS-CASPT2), complemented by density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) methods, to ...

Oxidative coupling of sinapic acid

open access: yes, 1997
Oxidative coupling of phenolic compounds is an important method used by synthetic organic chemists for the synthesis of various lignans. It has also been implicated in lignan biosynthesis. Recently, it was discovered that sinapic acid in a basic buffer in the presence of oxygen was quantitatively converted to the lignan, thomasidioic acid.

Simultaneous operation of two soft x-ray free-electron lasers driven by one linear accelerator

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2016
Extreme-ultraviolet to x-ray free-electron lasers (FELs) in operation for scientific applications are up to now single-user facilities. While most FELs generate around 100 photon pulses per second, FLASH at DESY can deliver almost two orders of magnitude
