Fast iterative methods for symmetric sinc-Galerkin systems

IMA Journal of Numerical Analysis, 1999
The main aim of the paper is to solve \(n\)-by-\(n\) symmetric sinc-Galerkin system \({\mathbf A}{\mathbf u}={\mathbf f}\) efficiently. The author shows that by utilizing the structure of the matrix \({\mathbf A}\), the product \({\mathbf A}{\mathbf q}\) can be computed in \(O(n\log n)\) operations for any given \(n\)-vector \({\mathbf q}\), and ...

A Sinc-Galerkin technique for the numerical solution of a class of singular boundary value problems

Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2013
This article is concerned with a boundary value problem for a differential equation with the point of singularity of the form \[ \frac{d^{2}y}{dx^{2}}+ \frac{b}{x} \frac{dy}{dx}= f(x,y),\quad x\in (0,1], \] with the boundary conditions \[ y(0)=a\, (\text{or } y'(0)= 0 )\quad \text{and} \quad A y(1) + B y'(1)= C.

Acoustic Green's functions using the Sinc-Galerkin method

2014
Green's functions represent the scattering behaviour of a particular geometry and are required to propagate acoustic disturbances through complex geometries using integral methods. The versatility of existing integral methods of acoustic propagation may be greatly increased by using numerical Green's functions computed for more general geometries.

On the Sinc-Galerkin Method for Solving Fractional Integro-differential Equations

2020
Inthis paper, numerical solution of some class of fractional integro-differentialequations is considered. By using Sinc-Galerkin method, the considered equationsare replaced by a system of linear algebraic equations. Some examples are givento show the ability of the used method.
