Scattering from the pec flat strip by using the method of moments with sinc type basis functions

open access: yes, 2006
Using sinc methods is a very powerful technique in physics and mathematics. They give good accuracies and they're easily implemented. Method of Moments (MoM) is used to transform linear operator equations to linear algebraic equations such as matrix ...

Solving differential aquations in quantum mechanics using sinc functions in one and two dimensions, employing Python and Numpy

open access: yes, 2021
In this contribution the sinc basis functions are used to numerically solve the Schrödinger equation in one and two dimensions for a number of potentials. The calculations are done using the Python and Numpy modules.

Knockdown of CREB3L4 Inhibits Autophagy and Reduces Cisplatin Resistance in Gastric Cancer Cells by Downregulating BAG3

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cisplatin resistance remains a major obstacle in the treatment of gastric cancer (GC), and autophagy has been increasingly recognized as a key cytoprotective mechanism contributing to chemoresistance. CREB3L4 is an endoplasmic reticulum membrane‐bound transcription factor that has been shown to regulate the expression of Bcl‐2 associated ...

Frame set for shifted sinc-function

open access: yesApplied and Computational Harmonic Analysis
We prove that frame set $\mathcal{F}_g$ for imaginary shift of sinc-function $$g(t)=\frac{\sinπb(t-iw)}{t-iw}, \quad b,w\in\mathbb{R}\setminus\{0\}$$ can be described as $\mathcal{F}_g=\{(α,β): αβ\leq 1, β\leq|b|\}.$ \\ In addition, we prove that $\mathcal{F}_g=\{(α,β): αβ\leq 1 \}$ for window functions $g$ of the form $\frac{1}{t-iw}(1-\sum\limits_{k ...

Advances in Position‐Momentum Entanglement: A Versatile Tool for Quantum Technologies

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Position–momentum entanglement constitutes a high‐dimensional continuous‐variable resource in quantum optics. Recent advances in its generation, characterization, and control are reviewed, with emphasis on spontaneous parametric down‐conversion and modern measurement techniques.

Germanium‐Based Mid‐Infrared Integrated Photonics

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
The mid‐infrared (mid‐IR) spectral range is a part of the electromagnetic spectrum in which most of the molecules have vibrational and rotational resonances. Photonics integration in this wavelength range have thus seen a burst of interest in the recent years, mainly driven by applications related with the detection of chemical and biological ...

Sinc approximation of algebraically decaying functions

open access: yes, 2018
An extension of sinc interpolation on $\mathbb{R}$ to the class of algebraically decaying functions is developed in the paper. Similarly to the classical sinc interpolation we establish two types of error estimates. First covers a wider class of functions with the algebraic order of decay on $\mathbb{R}$.

Concomitant Gradient Effects Across Field Strengths and Gradient Amplitudes: Improved Estimation of Errors and Correction of Concomitant Dephasing and Diffusion Weighting

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Deleterious effects from concomitant gradients are amplified at lower field strengths and stronger gradients. We aimed to show the signal errors caused by concomitant gradients across a wide range of hardware configurations and propose corrections that can be applied during experimental design and analysis.
