Towards climate‐conscious corporate restructuring: A comparative exploration of English and Bhutanese legal frameworks

open access: yesInternational Insolvency Review, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper conducts a comparative legal analysis of corporate restructuring frameworks in England and Bhutan, examining their capacity to integrate climate variability considerations and promote sustainable business practices. It discusses the procedural mechanisms for restructuring financially distressed enterprises available under the law of

Burden and Correlates of Multiple Chronic Infections and Their Associations With Cancer Incidence in Chinese Adults: A Large Case‐Cohort Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
While several oncogenic pathogens cause site‐specific cancers, uncertainties remain about many other chronic infections and combined pathogen effects, especially in non‐Western populations. Using a large case–cohort study nested within the China Kadoorie Biobank, the authors found that co‐infection was common, with a mean of 10 pathogens per individual.

A Generalized Sine-Gordon Equation: Reductions and Integrable Discretizations

open access: yes
In this paper, we propose fully discrete analogues of a generalized sine-Gordon (gsG) equation utx=(1+ν∂2x)sinu . The key points of the construction are based on the bilinear discrete KP hierarchy and appropriate definition of discrete reciprocal ...

Modelos de superficies e intercaras : transiciones de fase, desorden y aplicaciones [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
En esta memoria estudiamos varios modelos formulados en una dimensión. Primero estudiamos el modelo de sine-Gordon, que es adecuado para estudiar el crecimiento de superficies sólidas, encontrando un comportamiento de tamaño finito semejante a una ...

What Role Do Finance Ministers Play in Political Business Cycles? Evidence‐Based on a New African Dataset

open access: yesInternational Journal of Finance &Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates how the personal characteristics of finance ministers influence political budget cycles in Africa. Using a new dataset covering 300 finance ministers across 23 countries from 1980 to 2020, we find that political budget cycles primarily take the form of increased government consumption during election years.

On a New Avatar of the Sine-Gordon Equation

open access: yes, 2018
A chain of transformations is found which relates one new integrable case of the generalized short pulse equation of Hone, Novikov and Wang [arXiv:1612.02481] with the sine-Gordon ...

On the integrability of the sine-Gordon equation

open access: yes, 2015
Among other results we show that near the equilibrium point, the Hamiltonian of the sine-Gordon (SG) equation on the circle can be viewed as an element in the Poisson algebra of the modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation and hence by well established properties of the latter equation admits Birkhoff coordinates.

Ameliorating Linguistic Anchors of Oppression

open access: yesJournal of Applied Philosophy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The words we use to represent the world shape how we interpret and respond to it; language frames what it represents. In some cases, these frames can have prejudicial effects; for example, ‘workplace flirting’ versus ‘sexual harassment’. This article examines how specific words and phrases (i.e.

New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) in Alternative Methods: A Comparative Cytotoxicity Analysis of Nanostructured Hydroxyapatite in Adipose Stem Cells Spheroids

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Toxicological assessment is essential in NP approval for health and medical applications. Although 2D cell culture has been widely used, 3D models, especially spheroids, provide better predictive value for toxicological risk assessments since they replicate complex cellular interactions more accurately.

Neural correlates of resilience to trauma during adolescence: A multi‐modal study

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Understanding resilience mechanisms is important for advancing early intervention strategies, yet research on the neurobiology of resilience in adolescents is limited. The present study examined the brain structural and resting‐state functional connectivity (rsFC) correlates of resilience to internalizing and externalizing symptoms ...
