A tunable and single-longitudinal-mode Ho:YLF laser

Infrared Physics and Technology, 2016
Abstract A 1.94 μm Tm-doped fiber laser pumped tunable single-longitudinal-mode Ho:YLF laser with double etalons was reported for the first time. The maximum single-longitudinal-mode output power of 345 mW at 2051.6 nm was achieved at the absorbed pump power of 11.9 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 5.5% and an optical conversion efficiency ...

Single-longitudinal-mode multiwavelength fiber ring laser

IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2004
A single-longitudinal-mode multiwavelength fiber ring laser is proposed and demonstrated. The single-longitudinal-mode operation is realized using a fiber loop mirror with a saturable absorber. The fiber loop mirror acts as a passive self-tracking narrow multiband optical filter.

Single longitudinal mode operation of a fibre laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
We report the first operation of a monomode fibre laser oscillating on a single longitudinal mode. The laser incorporates an integral fibre grating and the output linewidth is 1.3MHz FWHM.

Single-longitudinal-mode ring diamond Raman laser

2017 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe & European Quantum Electronics Conference (CLEO/Europe-EQEC), 2017
We demonstrate a single-longitudinal-mode ring diamond Raman laser, pumped by a tunable single-mode Ti:sapphire laser. Two methods to achieving unidirectional operation have been demonstrated: increasing gain for one direction using a reinjecting mirror and increasing loss for one direction using sum frequency mixing in BBO.

Single-longitudinal-mode broadband tunable random laser

Optics Letters, 2017
In this work, we demonstrate a broadband tunable single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) random laser based on Rayleigh backscattering in a standard single-mode fiber. The wide tuning range of this SLM fiber laser over 1500-1570 nm is demonstrated with a linewidth of 4.5-30 kHz.

Transverse-mode selection in single-longitudinal-mode lasers

Physical Review A, 1996
In this paper we analyze the transverse pattern-forming characteristics of a two-level and single-longitudinalmode laser. The corrections to the classical empty cavity modes due to pumping and losses are specifically considered, leading to different excitation rates for the different transverse modes.

Single longitudinal mode operation of diode lasers

Applied Physics Letters, 1977
We report single longitudinal mode operation of conventional double-heterostructure GaAs/GaAlAs diode lasers achieved by heavy p-type doping of the active region. At 77 °K a broad-area device pumped with a rectangular current pulse exhibited single longitudinal mode operation up to 2.8 times threshold, which was the limit of the pulser.

Single Longitudinal Mode Green Diode Laser

Frontiers in Optics 2016, 2016
We observed that a green diode laser shows single longitudinal mode output at low operation current, and its frequency can be tuned by adjusting the operation temperature and operational current. The behavior of laser modes with operational current was also investaigated.

Single longitudinal mode operation of an XeCl laser

Applied Physics Letters, 1984
Single longitudinal mode output from a directly tuned, long pulse, magnetically switched XeCl laser is reported for the first time. Mode control was achieved using spatial aperatures and intracavity etalons. The narrow bandwidth laser output was diffraction limited with an optical pulse width of 30 ns, which would yield a transform limited bandwidth of
