We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Kinematic analysis of a single-loop reconfigurable 7R mechanism with multiple operation modes [PDF]
This paper presents a novel one-degree-of-freedom (1-DOF) single-loop reconfigurable 7R mechanism with multiple operation modes (SLR7RMMOM), composed of seven revolute (R) joints, via adding a revolute joint to the overconstrained Sarrus linkage.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Inverse scattering designs of dispersion-engineered single-mode planar waveguides
We use an inverse-scattering (IS) approach to design single-mode waveguides with controlled linear and higher-order dispersion. The technique is based on a numerical solution to the Gelfand-Levitan-Marchenko integral equation, for the inversion of ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Optimization of Sensors Based on Multimode Interference in Single-Mode–Multimode–Single-Mode Structure [PDF]
By coating a single-mode–multimode–single-mode (SMS) structure with a complex refractive index thin-film the central wavelength of the transmission and attenuation bands of the optical spectrum can be shifted. By adequate selection of multimode segment length and diameter, the thin-film thickness and the thin-film refractive ...

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
