ON STRATEGY‐PROOFNESS AND THE SALIENCE OF SINGLE‐PEAKEDNESS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Economic Review, 2018
AbstractWe consider strategy‐proof rules operating on a rich domain of preference profiles. We show that if the rule satisfies in addition tops‐onlyness, anonymity, and unanimity, then the preferences in the domain have to satisfy a variant of single‐peakedness (referred to as semilattice single‐peakedness).

Generalizations of single-peakedness [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We establish a surprising connection between a family of conservative semigroups, which includes the class of idempotent uninorms, and the concepts of single-peakedness and single-plateaudness, introduced in social choice theory by D. Black. We also introduce a generalization of single-peakedness to partial orders of join-semilattices and show how it ...

On Strategy-proofness and the Salience of Single-peakedness in a Private Goods Economy [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2020
We consider strategy-proof rules operating on a rich domain of preference profiles in a set up where multiple private goods have to be assigned to a set of agents with entitlements and where preferences display satiation. We show that if the rule is in addition tops-only, same-sided and individually rational with respect to the entitlements, then the ...

Unveiling the genetic determinants of germination efficiency in common bermudagrass: A genome-wide association study. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Genome
Abstract Common bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.] is an economically and ecologically important warm‐season perennial species widely used for turf, forage, and soil conservation and remediation. Seeding offers economic and practical advantages over vegetative propagation for establishing common bermudagrass.

The Regularized Horseshoe for Covariate Selection Improves Convenience and Predictive Performance in Population PK/PD Models. [PDF]

open access: yesCPT Pharmacometrics Syst Pharmacol
ABSTRACT We introduce the Regularized Horseshoe (RHS) in the context of covariate selection for population PK/PD models. Unlike stepwise approaches which are commonly used in this context, the RHS can simultaneously assess all possible parameter‐covariate relationships in a single model fit by leveraging the fact that such relationships are usually ...

New characterizations of strategy-proofness under single-peakedness

open access: yesMathematical Programming, 2023
AbstractWe provide novel representations of strategy-proof voting rules applicable when voters have uni-dimensional single-peaked preferences. In particular, we introduce a ‘grading curve’ representation which is particularly useful when introducing variable electorates.
