Nanoantennas for ultrabright single photon sources [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2014
We propose to use nanoantennas coupled to incoherently pumped quantum dots for ultra-bright single photon emission. Besides fully quantum calculations, we analyze an analytical expression for the emitted photon rate. From these analytical considerations it turns out that the Purcell factor and the pumping rate are the main quantities of interest.

Single-Photon Storage in a Ground-State Vapor Cell Quantum Memory

open access: yesPRX Quantum, 2022
Interfaced single-photon sources and quantum memories for photons together form a foundational component of quantum technology. Achieving compatibility between heterogeneous, state-of-the-art devices is a long-standing challenge.

Scalable, tailored purity heralded single-photon source enabled by second harmonic generation of GHz-rate ultrashort pulsed laser [PDF]

open access: yesAPL Quantum
We demonstrate a miniaturized, scalable high rate, pulsed single-photon source in the telecom band obtained by heralding a spontaneous parametric downconversion source pumped with a highly tunable GHz repetition rate pulsed laser in an all-guided wave ...

Single Photon Source Using Laser Pulses and Two-Photon Absorption [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We have previously shown that two-photon absorption (TPA) and the quantum Zeno effect can be used to make deterministic quantum logic devices from an otherwise linear optical system.

Room temperature triggered single-photon source in the near infrared

open access: yes, 2007
We report the realization of a solid-state triggered single-photon source with narrow emission in the near infrared at room temperature. It is based on the photoluminescence of a single nickel-nitrogen NE8 colour centre in a chemical vapour deposited ...

Simulating Single-Photon Sources Based on Backward-Wave Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion in a Periodically Poled KTP Waveguide

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
The properties of the backward-wave spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) in a periodically poled potassium titanyl phosphate (KTP) waveguide are studied in the context of creating narrowband heralded sources of single-photon states.

Enhancing photon generation rate with broadband room-temperature quantum memory

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Photons with high generation rate is one of the essential resources for quantum communication, quantum computing and quantum metrology. Due to the naturally memory-built-in feature, the memory-based photon source is a promising route towards large-scale ...

Ultrabright single-photon sources [PDF]

open access: yesPhotoniques, 2017
The development of a quantum communication network will require sources that efficiently emit single photons. Now, using a new lithography technique that garnered a silver CNRS medal in 2014, it has recently proved possible to fabricate these sources using quantum dots (QDs), that is, artificial solid-state atoms.

Ultra-coherent single photon source [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We present a novel type of single photon source in solid state, based on the coherent laser light scattering by a single InAs quantum dot. We demonstrate that the coherence of the emitted single photons is tailored by the resonant excitation with a ...
