Traditional nonisolated multilevel inverters based on the buck–boost principle usually have some disadvantage such as necessary dead time or capacitor precharging. To overcome these, a new transformerless single-stage buck–boost voltage source inverter topology and its control method are proposed.

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2009This paper presents a new control strategy for a single-stage flyback inverter, which consists of two flyback converters. The two converters alternately work in the proposed control scheme, which eliminate about 30% additional freewheeling power compared with a conventional differential control scheme. The control scheme is analyzed in detail.
