This paper presents a novel isolated single stage buck-boost inverter for implementing dc-to-ac, ac-to-dc or dc-to-dc. The BBI has better performances, in terms of low cost, high efficiency and high voltage gain. Through the HEV/EV application, the circuit operation principles and characteristics have been analyzed.

A high gain single stage buck-boost inverter (SSBBI) is proposed in this paper. The proposed topology has low semiconductors count, only four switches.
