Risk factors for deterioration of renal function after coronary artery bypass grafting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Objective: Various definitions of impairment of renal function after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) are used in the literature. Depending on the definition, several risk factors are identified.

Single coronary artery from right aortic sinus in a very elderly patient

open access: yesJournal of the Saudi Heart Association, 2016
In the absence of other associated cardiac anomalies, single coronary artery (SCA) per se is a rare anomaly detected during coronary angiography or autopsy. Various types of SCA detected during coronary angiography have already been described.

A rare type of single coronary artery with right coronary artery originating from the left circumflex artery in a child [PDF]

open access: yesKorean Journal of Pediatrics, 2015
The presence of a single coronary artery is a rare congenital anomaly; such patients often present with severe myocardial ischemia. We experienced the case of a 13-year-old girl with the right coronary artery originating from the left circumflex artery ...

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Prevalence, Spectrum, and Outcomes of Single Coronary Artery Detected on Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA)

open access: yesRadiology Research and Practice, 2019
Background. Single coronary artery (SCA) is a rare congenital anomaly in which there is an isolated coronary artery that arises from a single coronary ostium and provides coronary blood supply to the entire myocardium.

Double Vessel Coronary Angioplasty in a Patient with Anomalous Single Coronary Artery Arising from the Right Cusp and Premature Atherosclerotic Coronary Artery Disease: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

open access: yesCase Reports in Cardiology, 2021
We report a rare case of a 39-year-old male who presented with acute inferior wall myocardial infarction (IWMI). Coronary angiography revealed an anomalous single coronary artery arising from the right coronary cusp.

Reduction of radiation dose for coronary computed tomography angiography using prospective electrocardiography-triggered high-pitch acquisition in clinical routine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose: To evaluate the image quality, radiation exposure, and means of application in a group of patients who underwent coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) performed with low-dose prospective electrocardiography (ECG)-triggered acquisition ...

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Focus on Stable Angina from the Perspective of Affected Coronary Artery Number and Structural and Functional Myocardial Changes

open access: yesGalician Medical Journal, 2019
The objective of the research was to study myocardial hemodynamics and contractility, as well as N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide secretion in the patients with chronic coronary artery disease depending on affected coronary artery number ...

A unique case of non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction with abnormal origin of left coronary system from the right coronary cusp

open access: yesSAGE Open Medical Case Reports, 2023
A unique case of non-ST-elevation myocardial infarctionis discussed, in which the left main coronary artery and anomalous coronary artery from the opposite sinus of Valsalva were absent.
