Impact factor volatility due to a single paper: A comprehensive analysis [PDF]

open access: yesQuantitative Science Studies, 2021
Abstract We study how a single paper affects the impact factor (IF) of a journal by analyzing data from 3,088,511 papers published in 11639 journals in the 2017 Journal Citation Reports of Clarivate Analytics. We find that IFs are highly volatile. For example, the top-cited paper of 381 journals caused their IF to increase by more than 0.

Research on dynamic response of subsea control system based on partial correlation analysis

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao, 2021
In this article, taking a specific underwater hydraulic system as the research object, a closed loop circuit and a closed non-loop circuit simulation models are established; and through a single factor analysis, the interior factors such as different ...

A Single Factor Underlies the Metabolic Syndrome: A Confirmatory Factor Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesDiabetes Care, 2006
Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to test the hypothesis that the components of the metabolic syndrome are manifestations of a single common factor.Three different datasets were used to test and validate the model. The Spanish and Mauritian studies included 207 men and 203 women and 1,411 men and 1,650 women, respectively.

The Research of Declining Factor and a New Model of Decline Rate for Gas Well Production in Low Permeability Reservoir

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
The decline rate of gas wells varies with production time and is related to reservoir and working system. A typical single well numerical model of low permeability gas wells is established.

Single-Cell Differential Network Analysis with Sparse Bayesian Factor Models

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2022
Differential network analysis plays an important role in learning how gene interactions change under different biological conditions, and the high resolution of single-cell RNA (scRNA-seq) sequencing provides new opportunities to explore these changing ...

Genetic pathways regulating hematopoietic lineage speciation: Factorial latent variable model analysis of single cell transcriptome

open access: yesData in Brief, 2021
Genetic pathways regulating hematopoietic lineage commitment at critical stages of development remain incompletely characterized.  To better delineate genetic sources of variability regulating cellular speciation during steady-state hematopoiesis, we ...

Prediction of single-cell gene expression for transcription factor analysis [PDF]

open access: yesGigaScience, 2020
Abstract Background Single-cell RNA sequencing is a powerful technology to discover new cell types and study biological processes in complex biological samples. A current challenge is to predict transcription factor (TF) regulation from single-cell RNA data.

Multicellular factor analysis of single-cell data for a tissue-centric understanding of disease

open access: yeseLife, 2023
Biomedical single-cell atlases describe disease at the cellular level. However, analysis of this data commonly focuses on cell-type-centric pairwise cross-condition comparisons, disregarding the multicellular nature of disease processes. Here, we propose
