Bearing capacity and displacement characteristics of long-short composite piles in loess areas
The researches on new pile foundation are insufficient in loess areas. In order to introduce and promote the composite pile foundation with long and short piles in the loess areas, the bearing characteristics of pile foundation need to be further studied.

Field tests on bearing capacities of CFG pile and root pile
For the soft soil foundation slipped in the storage yard of a wharf, the composite foundations with CFG pile and root pile net are used for reinforcement in different zones. The field static load tests are carried out to study the bearing behavior of the

Soil-Pile Interface Model for Axially Loaded Single Piles
On the basis of the observed experimental behavior of axially loaded friction piles driven in soft clays, a soil-pile interface model is proposed using the basic rheological units: springs, dashpots and sliding elements. All the mass of soil affected by the presence of the pile is concentrated in a ring of infinitesimal width.

Studying the Behavior of Axially Loaded Single Pile in Clayey Soil with Cavities [PDF]
This paper deals with the interaction between cavities and adjacent axially loaded pile in clayey soil using the three dimensional finite element program (ANSYS 11.0).Three dimensional SOLID45 and SOLID65 elements were used to model the soil and the ...

Behavior of single pile and pile groups in consolidating clay
Abstract As the pile group is commonly in use but the effect of consolidation times on the distribution of negative skin friction and drag force along the shaft of each pile in pile groups is still not well defined and studied. This paper presents the three-dimensional (3D) numerical analysis to study the behavior of a single pile and ...
