Singlet levels of the NV− centre in diamond

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2015
The characteristic transition of the ${\rm N}{{{\rm V}}^{-}}$ centre at 637 nm is between $^{3}{{A}_{2}}$ and $^{3}E$ triplet states. There are also intermediate $^{1}{{A}_{1}}$ and $^{1}E$ singlet states, and the infrared transition at 1042 nm between ...

Exact ground state of the Lieb-Mattis Hamiltonian as a superposition of Néel states

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2019
We show that the exact ground state of the Lieb-Mattis Hamiltonian is an equal-weight superposition of all possible classical Néel states, and provide an exact formulation of this superposition in the z-spin basis for both S=1/2 and general S using ...

BOUND STATES OF SINGLET QUARKS AT LHC [PDF]

open access: yesModern Physics Letters A, 1996
We discuss the discovery potential of the bound states of singlet quarks at LHC. We find that it is possible to discover bound states of singlet quarks at LHC with singlet quark masses up to 300 GeV for eQ=2/3 and up to 200 GeV for eQ=−1/3.

Intermolecular Interactions and their Implications in Solid-State Photon Interconversion

open access: yesCHIMIA
Photon interconversion promises to alleviate thermalization losses for high energy photons and facilitates utilization of sub-bandgap photons – effectively enabling the optimal use of the entire solar spectrum.

Formylmethylene: The Triplet Ground State and the Lowest Singlet State

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2013
The ground triplet state and lowest singlet state of formylmethylene have been proposed as important intermediates in the Wolff rearrangement of α-diazo ketones into ketenes. The ground triplet state of formylmethylene has been examined experimentally, but the lowest singlet state has yet to be observed.

Excited-State Dynamics of the Thiopurine Prodrug 6-Thioguanine: Can N9-Glycosylation Affect Its Phototoxic Activity?

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
6-Thioguanine, an immunosuppressant and anticancer prodrug, has been shown to induce DNA damage and cell death following exposure to UVA radiation. Its metabolite, 6-thioguanosine, plays a major role in the prodrug’s overall photoreactivity.

Field-dependent molecular ionization and excitation energies: Implications for electrically insulating liquids

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2014
The molecular ionization potential has a relatively strong electric-field dependence as compared to the excitation energies which has implications for electrical insulation since the excited states work as an energy sink emitting light in the UV/VIS ...

Near-Infrared Phosphorescence of Raman Photogenerated Singlet Oxygen

open access: yesPhotochem
We report on the phosphorescence of singlet oxygen photogenerated through a stimulated Raman process. Nanosecond radiation in the green spectral region focused on hexane and carbon tetrachloride induces a Raman transition of the dissolved solvent oxygen ...
