ABSTRACT Despite growing attention to the circular bioeconomy (CBE), the steel industry currently lacks a standardised, sectoral measurement framework to facilitate a low‐carbon transition. In this study, a decision‐support framework for evaluating CBE performance in the steel industry is proposed.

Random Reed-Solomon Codes Achieve the Half-Singleton Bound for Insertions and Deletions over Linear-Sized Alphabets [PDF]
In this paper, we prove that with high probability, random Reed-Solomon codes approach the half-Singleton bound - the optimal rate versus error tradeoff for linear insdel codes - with linear-sized alphabets.

Free Trade Zones and Corporate ESG: Evidence From a Quasi‐Natural Experiment in China
ABSTRACT This study examines how China's Pilot Free Trade Zones (FTZs) influence corporate ESG performance. Using a staggered difference‐in‐differences model on Chinese listed firms from 2009 to 2024, we combine coarsened exact matching (CEM) and geography‐based instrumental variables to ensure robust identification.

Pregnant individuals take drugs throughout pregnancy and many of these drugs (e.g., antivirals, antibiotics) are eliminated by renal organic anion transporters (OAT) 1 and OAT3. In vivo studies with OAT1/3 substrate drugs suggest that pregnancy increases renal OAT1/3 activities by 1.5‐ to 1.8‐fold.

Composite sourdough breads were developed from blends of unripe plantain, tiger nut, and fenugreek flours. Optimized formulations improved pasting stability and enhanced texture, producing softer more elastic crumbs. The enriched breads contained higher dietary fiber and bioactive compounds, and significantly reduced serum cholesterol markers ...

On the upper bound of the size of the r-cover-free families
Let T (r; n) denote the maximum number of subsets of an n-set satisfying the condition in the title. It is proved in a purely combinatorial way, that for n sufficiently large log 2 T (r; n) n 8 \Delta log 2 r r 2 holds. 1.

The effect of pretreatment methods on the proximate content, antinutrient factors, antioxidant, and in vitro antidiabetic activities of elm oyster mushroom was studied. It was observed and statistically concluded that soaking in 0.5% salt solution for 5 min had the least deteriorating effect on the antioxidant and in vitro antidiabetic activities ...

ATPase cycle and DNA unwinding kinetics of RecG helicase [PDF]
The superfamily 2 bacterial helicase, RecG, is a monomeric enzyme with a role in DNA repair by reversing stalled replication forks. The helicase must act specifically and rapidly to prevent replication fork collapse. We have shown that RecG binds tightly

ABSTRACT This paper adopts a bivariate Markov‐switching multifractal (BMSM) model to reexamine comovement in SV between commodity, foreign exchange (FX), and stock markets. After the 2007–2008 global financial crisis understanding volatility linkages and the correlation structure between these markets becomes very important for risk analysts, portfolio

Bounds and Constructions of Singleton-Optimal Locally Repairable Codes with Small Localities
Constructions of optimal locally repairable codes (LRCs) achieving Singleton-type bound have been exhaustively investigated in recent years. In this paper, we consider new bounds and constructions of Singleton-optimal LRCs with minmum distance $d=6 ...
