This study focuses on less-studied mode I/III fracture cracking behaviour. Seven specimens (ENDC, DNDC, SCB, ENDB, ATPB, TPB-IC, and SENB) were analyzed numerically and experimentally. Results show in pure mode-I, the specimens show identical KIc values (1.22 to 1.54 MPa√m).

An efficient method for computation of singular and higher order terms of a crack-tip stress field
A recently developed semi-analytical method, called scaled boundary finite element method, is applied to evaluate the coefficients of stress field at a crack-tip for two-dimensional linear-elastic cracked structures.

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

Evaluating the effect of γ‐oryzanol on MASLD pathology using a medaka fish model
This study explores a liver disease called MASLD, which is increasing worldwide and can lead to serious damage. Researchers used medaka fish instead of rodents to test a food compound, γ‐oryzanol. Fish fed this compound had less liver fat and healthier gut bacteria.

Relationship Between Neurologic Symptoms and Signs and FMR1 Genotype in Premutation Carriers
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Fragile X‐associated Tremor/Ataxia Syndrome (FXTAS) is the most severe late‐onset condition caused by a premutation in the FMR1 gene, characterized by expanded CGG triplet repeats of 55–200. Clinical presentations of FXTAS, including gait ataxia, kinetic tremor, cognitive decline, and rare Parkinsonism, are linked to ...

Movement Disorders in Aicardi–Goutières Syndrome and Response to Immunomodulation
ABSTRACT This study characterizes movement disorders and treatment responses in seven children with Aicardi–Goutières syndrome (AGS). We retrospectively evaluated motor phenotypes, neuroimaging, and interferon signatures in patients treated with baricitinib or anifrolumab. Spasticity affected all patients, while dystonia was present in 4/7.

Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...
