Clustered spots in the FitzHugh-Nagumo system

open access: yes, 2004
We construct {\bf clustered} spots for the following FitzHugh-Nagumo system: \[\left\{\begin{array}{l}\ep^2\Delta u +f(u)-\delta v =0\quad \mbox{in} \ \Om,\\[2mm]\Delta v+ u=0 \quad \mbox{in} \ \Om,\\[2mm] u= v =0 \quad\mbox{on} \ \partial \Om, \end{

On The Two Dimensional Gierer-Meinhardt system with strong coupling

open access: yes, 1999
We construct solutions with a single interior condensation point for the two-dimensional Gierer-Meinhardt system with strong coupling. The condensation point is located at a nondegenerate critical point of the diagonal part of the regular part

A Versatile‐Designable Framework for Active and Programmable Shape‐Morphing Soft Matter Systems: From Inverse Design to Closed‐Loop Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A versatile framework integrates addressable electrothermal actuation and strain‐constraint mechanisms to construct programmable shape‐morphing soft matter systems. By combining an analytical inverse design strategy for high‐fidelity 3D surface reconstruction with deep learning‐based closed‐loop control, this approach enables zero‐energy shape locking,

Positive solutions for elliptic equations with singular nonlinearity

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2005
We study an elliptic boundary-value problem with singular nonlinearity via the method of monotone iteration scheme: $$displaylines{ -Delta u(x)=f(x,u(x)),quad x in Omega,cr u(x)=phi(x),quad x in partial Omega , }$$ where $Delta$ is the Laplacian ...

Weighted Herz Spaces and Regularity Results

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces and Applications, 2012
It is proved that, for the nondivergence form elliptic equations ∑𝑛𝑖,𝑗=1𝑎𝑖𝑗𝑢𝑥𝑖𝑥𝑗=𝑓, if 𝑓 belongs to the weighted Herz spaces 𝐾𝑞𝑝(𝜑,𝑤), then 𝑢𝑥𝑖𝑥𝑗∈𝐾𝑞𝑝(𝜑,𝑤), where 𝑢 is the 𝑊2,𝑝-solution of the equations.

Chiral‐Induced Spin Selectivity Effect in a 1 nm Thin 1,1′‐Binaphthyl‐2,2′‐diyl Hydrogenphosphate Self‐Assembled Monolayer on Nickel Oxide

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A self‐assembled monolayer (≈0.9 nm) of an axially chiral binaphthol phosphoric acid derivative on a ferromagnetic Ni/NiOx substrate shows chiral‐induced spin selectivity (CISS) magnetoresistance of 50%–80%. This thermally and chemically robust functional stack shows the way towards practical spintronic devices based on the CISS effect.

Removable singular sets of fully nonlinear elliptic equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 1999
In this paper we consider fully nonlinear elliptic equations, including the Monge-Ampere equation and the Weingarden equation. We assume that $F(D^2u, x) = f(x) quad x in Omega,,$ $u(x) = g(x) quad xin partial Omega $ has a solution $u$ in $C^2(Omega ...
