Near‐Unity Chiral Lasing Enabled by Quasi‐Bound States in the Continuum

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoimprinted chiral array that supports bound states in the continuum is doped with an efficient non‐chiral molecule (Rhodamine‐B) acting as gain medium to produce fully circularly polarized lasing emission. The chiral lasing wavelength can be tuned across the emission band of Rhodamine‐B by adjusting the coating thickness of the TiO2 high refractive ...

Symmetry of Nodal Solutions for Singularly Perturbed Elliptic Problems on a Ball

open access: yes, 2004
In [40], it was shown that the following singularly perturbed Dirichlet problem \ep^2 \Delta u - u+ |u|^{p-1} u=0, \ \mbox{in} \ \Om,\] \[ u=0 \ \mbox{on} \ \partial \Om has a nodal solution u_\ep which has the least energy among all nodal solutions.

Comprehensive analytical treatment of bifurcation, stability, and multiform solitons for nonlinear conformable evolution equation in shallow-water waves

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science
We apply the modified extended (ME) mapping algorithm to the combined Shallow Water Wave-Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equations in a (2+1)-dimensional framework involving the conformable derivative to construct new analytic solutions.

Higher-Order Energy Expansions and Spike Locations

open access: yes, 2004
We consider the following singularly perturbed semilinear elliptic problem: (I)\left\{ \begin{array}{l} \epsilon^{2} \Delta u - u + f(u)=0 \ \ \mbox{in} \ \Omega, \\ u>0 \ \ \mbox{in} \ \ \Omega \ \ \mbox{and} \ \frac{\partial u}{\partial \nu}

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Next‐Generation Water Treatment With Molybdenum Disulfide: Dual‐Functionality in Pollutant Adsorption and Photocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) has attracted attention as a promising material due to the growing demand for environmentally friendly, cost‐effective, and efficient water treatment techniques. With its physicochemical characteristics, this stratified bidimensional material allows it to be highly effective in adsorption and catalytic performance ...

The Riemann-Hilbert problem for degenerate elliptic complex equations and its application

open access: yes, 2014
This article deals with some elliptic complex equations of first order, i.e. the generalized Beltrami equation with two degenerate lines in multiply connected domains.

Buckling‐Driven Linearity in Flexible Capacitive Pressure Sensors Based on a Three‐Dimensional Dual‐Pore Polyurethane Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A flexible pressure sensor utilizing a 3D dual‐pore polyurethane structure is developed to overcome the intrinsic trade‐off between sensitivity and linearity. By inducing sequential buckling through distinct pore sizes and shapes, the device achieves highly linear and sensitive responses across a wide pressure range.

A note on the polynomial approximation of vertex singularities in the boundary element method in three dimensions

open access: yes, 2008
We study polynomial approximations of vertex singularities of the type $r^\lambda |\log r|^\beta$ on three-dimensional surfaces. The analysis focuses on the case when $\lambda > -\frac 12$.
