On polynomial collocation for Cauchy singular integral equations with fixed singularities

open access: yes, 2002
In this paper we consider a polynomial collocation method for the numerical solution of Cauchy singular integral equations with fixed singularities over the interval, where the fixed singularities are supposed to be of Mellin convolution type.

Existence and uniqueness of iterative positive solutions for singular Hammerstein integral equations

open access: yes, 2017
In this article, we study the existence and the uniqueness of iterative positive solutions for a class of nonlinear singular integral equations in which the nonlinear terms may be singular in both time and space variables.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

On the solvability of boundary value problem for mixed-type equation with a singular coefficient

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2014
In this paper we study a problem with conditions on the inner characteristic and on some parts of the degeneration line for mixed type equation with singular coefficient in unbounded domain.

Finite Element Quadrature of Regularized Discontinuous and Singular Level Set Functions in 3D Problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Regularized Heaviside and Dirac delta function are used in several fields of computational physics and mechanics. Hence the issue of the quadrature of integrals of discontinuous and singular functions arises.

Some new weakly singular integral inequalities and their applications to fractional differential equations

open access: yes, 2016
Some new inequalities with weakly singular integral kernel are developed, which generalize some known inequalities and can be used in the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the solutions to certain fractional differential equations.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

On Weighted Hadamard-Type Singular Integrals and Their Applications

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2007
By means of an expression with a kind of integral operators, some properties of the weighted Hadamard-type singular integrals are revealed. As applications, the solution for certain strongly singular integral equations is discussed and illustrated.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Positive solutions of a boundary value problem with integral boundary conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We consider boundary-value problems studied in a recent paper. We show that some existing theory developed by Webb and Infante applies to this problem and we use the known theory to show how to find improved estimates on parameters μ*, λ so ...
