Singular Points Detection Using Interactive Mechanism In Fingerprint Images
2006 9th International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision, 2006Singular point is crucial for fingerprint identification. However, detection of the singular point is not always perfect. Up to now, there is no effective criterion to validate the singular point detected. This paper introduces a new interactive mechanism to detect and validate a singular point. The method comprises two stages: 1.

A novel technique for singular point detection based on Poincaré index
Proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing and Multimedia, 2011Singular points of a fingerprint are considered important global features. They are useful for fingerprint classification and matching because they can reduce the search time and space in large fingerprint databases and can also be regarded as reference points for fingerprint matching.

Singular Point Detection of Nanostructured Magnets
1994The singular point detection (SPD) is a technique for the measurement of magnetic anisotropy fields and critical fields of magnetic phase transitions, by the use polycrystalline samples. It is based on the principle that the analytic singularity characterising the transition can be revealed in the polycrystalline aggregate by observing the differential

Singular Points Detection Based on Zero-Pole Model in Fingerprint Images
IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2008An algorithm is proposed which combines Zero-pole Model and Hough Transform(HT) to detect singular points. Orientation of singular points is defined on basis of Zero-pole Model which can further explain the practicability of Zero-pole Model. Contrary to orientation field generation, detection of singular points is simplified to determine the parameters

An enhanced method for singular points detection in fingerprint images
2010 International Conference on Computer and Communication Technology (ICCCT), 2010The detection of singular points (SP), the core and delta points is an important step for automatic fingerprint identification system (AFIS). The number and location of singular points, are used to classify fingerprint images into five general groups; and therefore to narrow down the search space in large fingerprint databases.

New Approach for Fingerprint Detection based on Singular Points
Fourth International Conference on Advances in Recent Technologies in Communication and Computing (ARTCom2012), 2012Recognition of persons on the basis of biometric features is an emerging phenomenon which has received increasing attention in recent years due to the need for security in a wide range of applications. Singular points are the discontinuities in the directional field. Two types of singular points exist- core point and delta points.

Anomalous singular-point-detection peak of monocrystalline YCo4Al
Physica B: Condensed Matter, 1998Abstract High pulsed-field measurements were performed on a monocrystalline YCo4Al sample using the singular-point-detection (SPD) method, in the temperature range 5–300 K. At 5 K, the anisotropy field value determined from the SPD method shows good agreement with that obtained from quasi-static high-field measurements in the Amsterdam high-field ...

Moving Object Detection through Efficient Detection and Clustering of Reliable Singular Points
2011This paper presents a method to detect vehicles from a moving camera. The detection component involves a cascade of modules. First, motion estimation of singular points in video sequences is used to detect moving vehicle. Finding the image points is the selection of singular points. We impose restrictions about the gradient magnitude and the cornerness.

Global and local information combined to detect singular points in fingerprint images
Science China Information Sciences, 2012An algorithm is proposed, which combines global and local information of fingerprint images to detect singular points. It’s mathematically proven that normal lines of gradient of double orientation field(GDOF) pass through singular points. Normal lines of GDOF use rather global information to detect candidate singular points.

A Novel Algorithm of Singular Points Detection for Fingerprint Images
2007It is very important to effectively detect singularities (core and delta)for fingerprint matching, fingerprint classification and orientation flow modeling. In this paper, based on multilevel partitions in a fingerprint image, we present a new method of singularity detection to improve the accuracy and reliability of the singularities.
