Singularity confinement and algebraic integrability [PDF]
Two important notions of integrability for discrete mappings, algebraic integrability and singularity confinement, have been used for discrete mappings. Algebraic integrability is related to the existence of sufficiently many conserved quantities and singularity confinement is associated with the local analysis of singularities.

Symplectic singularities, color confinement, and the quantum Dirac sheaf
A singularity â„‚2r /G, with G a split symplectic reflection group, may or may not be crepant. Then the total space đť’ł of the Donagi-Witten integrable system is crepant for some 4d N = 2 $$ \mathcal{N}=2 $$ SCFT and non-crepant for others.

A geometric approach to singularity confinement and algebraic entropy [PDF]
A geometric approach to the equation found by Hietarinta and Viallet, which satisfies the singularity confinement criterion but exhibits chaotic behavior, is presented. It is shown that this equation can be lifted to an automorphism of a certain rational surface and can therefore be considered to be the action of an extended Weyl group of indefinite ...

Tropical geometric interpretation of ultradiscrete singularity confinement [PDF]
Using the interpretation of the ultradiscretization procedure as a non-Archimedean valuation, we use results of tropical geometry to show how roots and poles manifest themselves in piece-wise linear systems as points of non-differentiability. This will allow us to demonstrate a correspondence between singularity confinement for discrete integrable ...

Geometrical description of equations related to the E8 affine Weyl group [PDF]
We present a method for the construction of the trajectory of a discrete Painlev\'e equation associated with the affine Weyl group E$_8^{(1)}$ on the weight lattice of said group.

Singular SQCD vacua and confinement [PDF]
We revisit the study of confining vacua in the softly broken N=2 supersymmetric QCD, in the light of some recent developments in our understanding of the dynamics of N=2 gauge theories. These vacua are characterized by an effective magnetic $SU(r)$ gauge group ($0\leq r\leq N_f/2$) and are referred to sometimes as the $r$ vacua.
