Experimental and Analytical Study of Sinusoidal Buckling in Vertical Wells
Proceedings of SPE Eastern Regional Meeting, 1994ABSTRACT This paper presents results from experimental data for sinusoidal buckling of tubulars in vertical wells and discusses some analytical solutions presented in the literature. An experimental apparatus 55 feet long was used in the tests. Several tests have been conducted and the results are presented and analyzed.

Sinusoidal phase grating created by a tunably buckled surface
Applied Physics Letters, 2004We investigate a buckling instability by both small angle light scattering and atomic force microscopy, demonstrating that a tunable phase grating can be created with a mechanical instability. The instability is realized in a prestressed silicone sheet coated with a glassy polymer film.

Effect of constant transverse force on chaotic oscillations of sinusoidally excited buckled beam
International Journal of Non-Linear Mechanics, 1990The chaotic oscillation of a buckled beam under sinusoidally varying and static constant transverse external forces is investigated. A harmonic balance method and a direct numerical integration are applied to a Duffings equation model of the buckled beam.

The Sinusoidal Buckling Mechanical Analysis for the Coiled Tubing Based on Energy Method
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013Columns are prone to sinusoidal buckling and repeated instability on the effect of drilling pressure and fluid pressure during drilling operation. The resulted large area of random contact to borehole wall would affect the drilling efficiency. It made the backreaming and loading hard and the drilling pressure low.

Elastic shear buckling of sinusoidally corrugated steel plate shear wall
Engineering Structures, 2016Abstract This paper deals with elastic shear buckling behavior of infill panels in sinusoidally corrugated steel plate shear walls, and fitting equations predicting the shear buckling loads are presented. Firstly by using finite element analyses (FEA), the previous formulae for bending rigidities of sinusoidally corrugated plates are revised, then ...

A SINUSOIDAL STIFFNESS MATRIX FOR BUCKLING AND VIBRATION ANALYSES OF RECTANGULAR MINDLIN PLATES
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1995A sinusoidal stiffness matrix for buckling and vibration analyses of rectangular Mindlin plates has been derived. The buckling and/or vibration equations of Mindlin plate theory have been stated. It has been shown how these equations contain, as a limiting case, those of classical thin plate theory. The equations have been written in dimensionless form

Composite Structures, 2019
Abstract The critical local buckling of simply-supported sinusoidal panels subjected to uniaxial compression using the Rayleigh-Ritz method is investigated. With increased applications of thin-walled composite structures in engineering, these corrugated panels are especially popular due to their high stiffness to weight ratio and high out ...
