A simple quasi-3D sinusoidal shear deformation theory for functionally graded plates
Composite Structures, 2013Abstract This paper presents a simple quasi-3D theory for the bending analysis of functionally graded plates. This theory accounts for both shear deformation and thickness stretching effects by a sinusoidal variation of all displacements through the thickness.

A new simple three-unknown sinusoidal shear deformation theory for functionally graded plates
Steel and Composite Structures, 2016In this paper, a new simple higher-order shear deformation theory for bending and free vibration analysis of functionally graded (FG) plates is developed. The significant feature of this formulation is that, in addition to including a sinusoidal variation of transverse shear strains through the thickness of the plate, it deals with only three unknowns ...

Abstract The present study focuses on performing a free vibration analysis of a functionally graded (FG) porous cylindrical shell subject to different sets of immovable boundary conditions. It is assumed that the modulus of elasticity of the porous composite is graded in the thickness direction.

In the present research, vibration and instability of axially moving viscoelastic micro-plate is investigated. Sinusoidal shear deformation theory (SSDT) is utilized due to its accuracy of polynomial functions than other plate theories. Based on Kelvin’s model, the viscoelastic structural properties of micro-plate are taken into consideration.

Nonlinear behavior of functionally graded material (FGM) plates under thermal loads is investigated here using an efficient sinusoidal shear deformation theory. The displacement field is chosen based on assumptions that the in-plane and transverse displacements consist of bending and shear components, and the shear components of in-plane displacements ...

Analysis of functionally graded plates using a sinusoidal shear deformation theory
Smart Structures and Systems, 2017This paper uses the four-variable refined plate theory for the free vibration analysis of functionally graded material (FGM) rectangular plates. The plate properties are assumed to be varied through the thickness following a simple power law distribution in terms of volume fraction of material constituents.

Abstract The optimization of the sinusoidal higher order shear deformation theory (HSDT) for the bending analysis of functionally graded shells is presented in this paper for the first time. The HSDT includes the stretching effect and their shear strain shape functions (sin(mz) and cos(nz)) contain the parameters “m” and “n” that need to be selected ...

This study proposes a solution for the analysis of critical buckling load of a coupled double-layer graphene sheets (DLGSs) system resting on elastic medium. In the upper and lower parts of the system, two graphene layers, which are under van der Waals force and related to each other through an elastic medium on the basis of Pasternak and Winkler ...
