Duckweeds under salt stress: a meta‐analysis of growth inhibition in relation to morphological and physiological traits and a systematic review of molecular responses

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Salinity reduces duckweed growth responses. Summary Salinity is one of the main environmental factors limiting the performance of duckweeds and despite growing ecological and biotechnological interest in these macrophytes, there is a lack of quantitative analyses of their responses to sodium chloride.

A dual pollination strategy combining perfume attraction and food deception in Galeandra blanchetii E.S. Rand (Orchidaceae)

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Galeandra blanchetii exhibits a dual‐attraction strategy: male euglossine bees are lured by floral scents as a resource, while both sexes are deceived by non‐existent nectar. Pollination only occurs when bees enter the spur to search for nectar, highlighting an evolutionary transition towards the perfume flower syndrome in Catasetinae.

The role of the water voles (Arvicola, Rodentia) in the Quatemary

open access: yesEstudios Geologicos, 1999
Los arvicólidos son roedores que tienen la morfología de la corona de los dientes formada por una secuencia de pliegues de esmalte que se asemeja a la curva y=sen f(x). Las especies actuales del género Arvicola cumplen en la morfología del molar mI, seis

Resource Substitution: Local Governments' Issue Attention and Policy Reinvention

open access: yesPolicy Studies Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Research on policy reinvention, where a government modifies rather than replicates policy innovations introduced by other governments, has progressed significantly, but how it is influenced by the government's issue attention has not been thoroughly examined.

Antibacterial and Antifungal Activity and Acute Toxicity of Crude Extracts From the Wild Edible Mushrooms Cantharellus veraecrucis, Cantharellus violaceovinosus, and Turbinellus floccosus

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food Science
Many phytopathogenic and human pathogenic microorganisms have increased their resistance to conventional antibiotics and fungicides, which is why the most recent research has focused on exploring new strategies for their management and control.

Leveraging an Unhappiness Lens for Smarter Policies

open access: yesPolicy Studies Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Traditional policy research has largely focused on enhancing happiness or well‐being, privileging positive outcomes as the primary metric of success. We argue that a systematic focus on the drivers of unhappiness—rather than solely on happiness—offers a complementary analytical framework that can uncover hidden societal deficits and broaden ...
