Site Characterization for Site Response Analysis in Performance Based Approach

open access: yes, 2022
The local seismic hazard analysis would yield probabilistic uniform hazard acceleration response spectrum on the engineering bedrock outcrop. Thus, site-specific response analyses need to produce a probabilistic uniform hazard acceleration response spectrum on the ground surface.

Site Response Analysis of Liquefying Sites

GeoCongress 2012, 2012
Two case histories of liquefaction at down-hole array stations were analyzed using one-dimensional dynamic site response procedures with three different constitutive models for liquefiable soils. The two sites were the Port Island Array in the 1995 Kobe Earthquake and the Wildlife Liquefaction Array in the 1987 Superstition Hills Earthquake.

The effect of site-to-site variability in ultrasensitive dose responses

Journal of Mathematical Biology, 2016
In this paper we study the ultrasensitive behavior of multisite phosphorylation or ligand binding systems, under site-to-site variations in the modification rates. Using computational methods and mathematical analysis, we prove that the Hill coefficient reaches its maximum value when all sites are identical to each other.

Soil site response

Nuclear Engineering and Design, 1999
The response of stiff quaternary soil sites to strong earthquake shaking is an important factor in the development of seismic siting criteria for nuclear power plants. Analytical methods for estimating this site response are in common use, but there is need for empirical verification of these modeling techniques.

Site Response Analyses

Structures Congress 2011, 2011
The subject of development of site specific performance-based design motion and its application to soil-structure interaction (SSI) analyses has been discussed in a number of guidance documents developed for both the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC) and Department of Energy (USDOE). NRC's Regulatory Guide 1.208 and upgrade to Sections 2.5.2, 3.7.1,
