Control of six-phase symmetrical induction generator in wind energy conversion systems

2017 5th International Conference on Electrical Engineering - Boumerdes (ICEE-B), 2017
This contribution presents the control of the variable speed wind energy conversion systems. It is based on a six-phase symmetrical induction generator combined to a matrix converter. Rotor flux vector control algorithm and a scalar strategy modulated matrix converter are used to control the wind energy conversion system.

Comparative Studies of Modular PMSMs with Symmetrical or Asymmetrical Six-Phase Windings

2018 IEEE International Magnetics Conference (INTERMAG), 2018
Nowadays, multiphase permanent-magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) equipped with fractional-slot concentrated windings (FSCWs) are increasingly attractive for the industrial applications due to their high torque density, high efficiency and high fault-tolerant capacity [1], [2].

Current Control of a Six-Phase Induction Generator for Wind Energy Plants

2012 15th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (EPE/PEMC), 2012
A wind energy conversion system (WECS), using a six-phase asymmetrical induction generator, is elaborated in this paper. The current control strategy for the system, including the method of suppressing imbalance caused by the asymmetrical conditions in the six-phase generator, is discussed.

A simplified dynamic model of six-phase electrically excited synchronous wind generators

2017 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting, 2017
Six-phase electrically excitation synchronous wind generator (SP-EESWG) is a special kind of variable speed constant frequency wind generator. A simplified dynamic model of SP-EESWG suitable for transient stability simulation is presented in this paper by ignoring the harmonics within the AC-DC-AC converters and fitting the steady active-reactive power

Analysis of Six-Phase Induction Motor with Distributed and Concentrated Windings by Using the Winding Function Method

2018 XIII International Conference on Electrical Machines (ICEM), 2018
Multi-phase induction motors feature a high fault-tolerance capability that makes them suitable for safety critical applications. On the other hand, concentrated winding is more fault-tolerant than conventional distributed winding. Therefore, the general idea is to use concentrated winding on the six-phase induction motor to gain more fault-tolerance ...

A six-phase wind energy induction generator system with series-connected DC-links

2012 3rd IEEE International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems (PEDG), 2012
The paper presents a study of a six-phase wind energy conversion system (WECS) with series-connected dc-links. The structure of the generation system requires the dc-link voltages to be balanced at the generator's side. To achieve this, it is shown that a dc-link voltage balancing controller can be realised by exploiting the extra degrees of freedom ...

Robust Direct Torque Control for Six-Phase Symmetrical Winding Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

2018 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2018
A robust direct torque control(DTC) for six-phase symmetrical winding permanent magnet synchronous motor(6PMSM) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the switching table is optimized for suppressing the zero-sequence current and improving the utilization of DC bus voltage.
