Quantasome: Size and Composition
Science, 1964The quantasome as seen in a two-dimensional crystalline array is 185 Å long, 155 Å wide, and 100 Å thick. The surface of the quantasome appears to contain four or more subunits. The molecular weight, determined from volume and density measurements, is 2 × 10 6 .

Role of Size and Composition on the Design of Superalkalis
The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2021Superalkalis and superhalogens are atomic clusters that mimic the chemistry of alkali and halogen atoms, respectively; the ionization energies of the superalkalis are less than those of alkali atoms, while the electron affinities of superhalogens are larger than those of the halogen atoms. These superions can serve as the building blocks of a new class

Effects of Grain-Size Composition on Flow Resistance of Debris Flows: Behavior of Fine Sediment
Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, 2019Investigations are presented on the effects of grain-size composition on the flow resistance of debris flows via laboratory experiments with bidisperse granular materials.

Soil microaggregate size composition and organic matter distribution as affected by clay content
, 2019Aggregation assembles different size mixtures of soil particles into a larger architecture. Such mixtures impede resolving which particles build aggregates and how these control the accumulation of soil organic matter (OM). Here we present an approach to

The Urban Homeless: Estimating Composition and Size
Science, 1987Although homelessness has been recognized as a serious and growing urban social problem, scientifically acceptable methods for estimating the composition and size of the homeless population have been lacking. A new research approach to estimating the size and composition of undomiciled urban populations is presented, and its utility is illustrated ...

In this chapter, we extend the methods introduced in the preceding two chapters to include the case of a transform size that is a product of three or more distinct primes. In fact, we will give a procedure for designing algorithms for transform size N = Mr, r a prime not dividing M, whenever an algorithm for transform size M is given.

Scaled DCT's on input sizes that are composite
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1995Given efficient scaled discrete cosine transforms (DCT's) of size p and q, where p and q are relatively prime, we present methods for constructing fast algorithms to compute scaled DCT's and scaled inverse DCT's of size pq. Extensions to multidimensional transforms are also given. >

Looking in text windows: Their size and composition
Information Processing & Management, 1994Abstract A text window is a group of words appearing in contiguous positions in text. Intuitively, words in such close proximity should have something to do with each other. We can use the text window to exploit a variety of lexical, syntactic, and semantic relationships without having to analyze the text explicitly for their structure. This research

This chapter looks into the use of body composition information in nutrition by considering the key concepts of body size and composition. Nutrients in the diet are essential to provide the elements from which the human body is built, such as energy and cofactors.
