Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Application of the Neutrosophic Fuzzy Sets in Profession Determination [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
We present several operations, such as algebraic sum, algebraic product, and arithmetic mean, over the neutrosophic sets extended with moment in time and sketch numbers.

How to Do Things with Walter Benjamin

open access: yesLateral, 2020
Walter Benjamin is now a common reference point within cultural studies. But while a considerable secondary literature has emerged around his work, efforts to build upon his contributions by operationalizing the method they elaborate have remained ...

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Europa senza miti

open access: yesCambio, 2016
This article’s primary aim is to target (§2) a new terminological fashion in European studies, which tends to extol the alleged role of myths in the narrative about the European Union. This operation however requires first to provide a sketch (§1) of the

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Sketching Theoretical Frameworks for American Studies

open access: yesVNU Journal of Science: Education Research, 2018
This paper analyzes briefly the theoretical frameworks developed by major thinkers in American Studies (Alexis de Toccqueville, Israel Zangwill, Max Weber, Frederick Jackson Turner) and proposes a new theoretical framework that approaches to the USA as the biggest, earliest, and the most successful Special Free Economic Zone in the history. ...

A Comparative Study on Face Sketch Synthesis

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
The purpose of face sketch synthesis technique is to generate a sketch from an input face image given a set of face sketch-photo images as the training set. Since face sketch synthesis is attracting huge attentions, an experimental study to existing methods is nontrivial.

The Digital Restoration of Da Vinci's Sketches

open access: yes, 2009
A sketch, found in one of Leonardo da Vinci's notebooks and covered by the written notes of this genius, has been recently restored. The restoration reveals a possible self-portrait of the artist, drawn when he was young.

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...
