Predicting grain boundary segregation in magnesium alloys: An atomistically informed machine learning approach

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys
Grain boundary (GB) segregation substantially influences the mechanical properties and performance of magnesium (Mg). Atomic-scale modeling, typically using ab-initio or semi-empirical approaches, has mainly focused on GB segregation at highly symmetric ...

Large Electrostrain and High Optical Transmittance via Oxygen Octahedron Rotation Disordering in KNN Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chemical disorder engineering reconfigures BO6 oxygen‐octahedron rotations in lead‐free K0.5Na0.5NbO3 ceramics from local ordering into a random distribution, dissolving the longstanding trade‐off between optical transparency and electromechanical strain.

A Brinkman-Penalized Finite Element Method for the Boussinesq Equations with Immersed Rigid Obstacles Under Uncertain Obstacle Motion

open access: yesMathematics
The Boussinesq equations are widely used to model incompressible thermally driven flows, but their numerical simulation becomes more challenging in domains containing fixed or moving rigid obstacles, particularly when the prescribed obstacle motion is ...

Stochastic‐MTJ Sampler Arrays for In‐Array Monte–Carlo Estimation

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A low‐energy‐barrier magnetic tunnel junction array is operated as a probability‐domain sampler: each cell's random switching, programmed through a shared digital‐to‐analog converter, makes the per‐column multiply–accumulate an unbiased Monte–Carlo expectation estimator that returns both a mean and a calibrated uncertainty.

The Exact Density of the Eigenvalues of the Wishart and Matrix-Variate Gamma and Beta Random Variables

open access: yesMathematics
The determination of the distributions of the eigenvalues associated with matrix-variate gamma and beta random variables of either type proves to be a challenging problem. Several of the approaches utilized so far yield unwieldy representations that, for

Assessing Mesoscale Heterogeneities in Hard Carbon Electrodes Through Deep Learning‐Assisted FIB‐SEM Characterization, Manufacturing and Electrochemical Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A combination of discrete and finite element method models for the current collector deformation and electrochemical performance analysis, respectively. The models are calibrated and validated with electrochemical and imaging data of hard carbon electrodes. These electrodes were manufactured with different parameters (slurry solid contents of 35 and 40

A REPARAMETRIZATION OF TRIANGULAR DISTRIBUTION BASED ON THE SKEW-SYMMETRIC DISTRIBUTIONS UNA REPARAMETRIZACIÓN DE LA DISTRIBUCIÓN TRIANGULAR BASADA EN LAS DISTRIBUCIONES SKEW-SIMÉTRICAS

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Estadística, 2009
In this paper a new approach is considered for studying the triangular distribution using the theoretical development behind Skew distributions. Triangular distribution are obtained by a reparametrization of usual triangular distribution.

On multivariate triangular-valued data

open access: yesDiscover Data
This paper addresses the modeling of triangular-valued data within the inferential framework of Symbolic Data Analysis (SDA). Triangular-valued data extend conventional interval-valued data by incorporating additional information about the mode, allowing

Abstract 083 | Measuring what matters: the significance of baseline, change, and outcome in rehabilitation research

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Translational Myology
Rehabilitation medicine relies on patient-reported and clinician-reported outcome measures (PROMs and CROMs) to assess patient progress, guide clinical decision-making, and inform policy.
