Buckling of laminated skew plates

Thin-Walled Structures, 1995
A general high precision triangular plate bending finite element has been extended to the buckling analysis of laminated skew plates. This procedure involves development of the transformation matrix between global and local degrees of freedom for nodes lying on the skew edges and suitable transformation of the element matrices.

Skew Plates in Bending

Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1977
Skew plate analysis is of considerable importance in a number of branches of engineering. It is, however, invariably difficult, and exact solution of differential equations in skew plate bending does not exist even today. Various methods have been employed to solve the intricate problem.

Anisotropic Skew Plates and Grids

Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1979
A discrete element method of analysis for the bending of an anisotropic skew-plate-and-grid-beam system is presented. The distinguishing features are (1) The representation of an anisotropic skew-plate-and-grid system by a discrete element model consisting of a tridirectional arrangement of rig bars and elastic joints; and (2) the formulation of stress-

Nonlinear Analysis of Skew Plates with Variable Thickness

AIAA Journal, 1975
Theme I the past, rectangular plates with variable thickness have been treated using large deflection theory. In this paper, clamped elastic skew plate with variable thickness has been analyzed for large deflection. The plate is subjected to uniform lateral pressure and the edges are free to move in the plane of the plate.

Large deflection of clamped skew plates

Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 1976
Abstract A theoretical analysis is presented for the large deflection elastic behaviour of clamped, uniformly loaded orthotropic skew plates. The governing nonlinear partial differential equations are transformed into a set of nonlinear algebraic equations.

Buckling of clamped skew plates

AIAA Journal, 1970
IN this Note, a condensed version of Ref. 1, only the results are presented. The available results for buckling of clamped skew plates are few and far from complete.2'3 In the present investigation, results for several new plate configurations and loading conditions as well as more accurate results for configurations reported in previous literature are

Bending of Skew Orthotropic Plate Structures

Journal of the Structural Division, 1976
A series solution has been developed to analyze skew orthotropic plate structures subjected to uniform and concentrated (patch) loads. The analysis was verified and substantiated by tests on model structures. The influence of skew, the ratio of the flexural rigidities, and torsional stiffness on the design quantities of such structures are investigated.

Analysis of skew and triangular plates in bending

Computers & Structures, 1988
The objective of this paper is to develop fast converging series solutions for rectangular, parallelogram and triangular plate bending elements with arbitrary boundary conditions and arbitrary shapes, and subjected to generalized normal loading. Solutions to parallelogram and rectangular plates are obtained by representing the deformed shape of a ...

An algorithm for skew license plate detection

Proceeding of the 11th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation, 2014
An efficient skew detection algorithm is proposed based on geometric constraint of license plate image. The highest of image outline would be treated as fundamental information to calculate the skew angle. Experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm proposed here has higher precision, faster speed and less computation.
