Mechanistic investigation of Liujing Toutong tablet in the treatment of cerebral ischemia–reperfusion injury in rats by the integration of serum pharmacochemistry and metabolomics

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
The research strategy for pharmacodynamics, serum pharmacochemistry, metabolomics, and network pharmacology analysis method in intervention effects of LTT are illustrated. Abstract Background Liujing Toutong tablet (LTT) is a traditional Chinese patent medicine.

Characteristics of Shear Layer Structure in Skimming Flow over a Vertical Drop Pool

open access: yes, 2014
The characteristics of shear layer structure between the sliding jet and the pool for skimming flows over a vertical drop pool were investigated experimentally, using flow visualization technique and high speed particle image velocimetry.

SDPR–STK38 axis controls the proliferation–differentiation balance in alveolar type II cells

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
The present study identifies SDPR as a pivotal regulator orchestrating the balance between proliferation and differentiation in alveolar type II (AT2) cells. In SDPR+/+ cells, SDPR binds to and inhibits STK38 activity, thereby sustaining GSK‐3β signaling functionality to promote cyclin D1 degradation and maintain cell cycle homeostasis.

Air entrainment and pressure development in skimming flow on an abrupt slope change on stepped spillways

open access: yes, 2022
Numerous stepped spillways were built to date, namely on RCC gravity dams or on valley flanks besides embankment or rockfill dams, while some others are currently under design or construction.

Chrysin alleviates pressure overload–induced myocardial remodeling through regulating the PI3K/AKT/NRF2 pathway–mediated oxidative stress response

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
In this study, we primarily simulated pathological myocardial remodeling induced by transverse aortic constriction surgery and found significant cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis, characterized by deteriorated cardiac function. Oxidative stress response is considered as a pivotal pathological process, which contributes to inflammation and apoptosis of ...

Identification Epitope on VP4 Protein of Senecavirus A Recognized by a Monoclonal Antibody

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study aims to identify conserved antigenic epitopes on the SVA VP4 protein using monoclonal antibodies, providing valuable tools for further exploring its functions and developing detection methods. SVA VP4 protein was expressed in Escherichia coli and purified with High‐Affinity Ni‐Charged Resin FF.

Turbulence and Turbulent Length and Time Scales in Skimming Flows on a Stepped Spillway. Dynamic Similarity, Physical Modelling and Scale Effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Stepped spillways are designed to increase the rate of energy dissipation on the chute and to reduce the size of the downstream energy dissipator.

Disulfide Bond–Modified Proteomics Reveals the Effects of Riboflavin on Protein Folding Dynamics

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Riboflavin deficiency impairs oxidative protein folding, causing ER misfolded protein accumulation, CHOP activation, and apoptosis, revealing a role of riboflavin in proteostasis. ABSTRACT Riboflavin is a crucial micronutrient essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis, acting as an important precursor for flavoproteins that utilize flavin ...

Air-water flow features in skimming flow over steeply sloping stepped spillways

open access: yes, 2005
Skimming flow over a stepped spillway is characterized by strong self-aeration downstream of the point of inception of air entrainment. In order to have a better understanding of the overall phenomenon of air entrainment and flow bulking, the main ...

Associating cognitive abilities with naturalistic search behavior

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Volume 76, Issue 4, Page 665-685, April 2025.
Abstract Differences in cognitive abilities affect search behaviors, but this has mostly been observed in laboratory experiments. There is limited research on how users search for information in real‐world, naturalistic settings and how real‐world search behaviors relate to cognitive abilities.
