Abstract Global warming warms the lower atmosphere, but cools and contracts the upper atmosphere. These changes also affect the ionosphere, altering the vertical distribution of plasma through changes in the plasma scale height. Here, we use ionospheric equivalent slab thickness (τ) multidecadal time series, derived through observations from co‐located

Equivalent Subsurface Thermal Characteristics for Heterogeneous Surfaces
Abstract Land‐surface and atmospheric models often represent subgrid‐scale variability using a single set of effective properties. Estimating these equivalent properties is critical for predicting land‐atmosphere exchanges accurately, but challenging when materials with distinct radiative and thermal characteristics coexist, particularly in urban ...

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

Cellulose as a Platform for Biodegradable Metasurfaces: THz Characterization and Fabrication
The demand for sustainable THz technologies has motivated the development of biodegradable, flexible devices based on ethyl cellulose. Metal‐backed EC metasurfaces were analytically designed and fabricated to achieve near‐perfect THz absorption. Reflection‐mode THz spectroscopy confirmed resonant absorption at 0.576 and 0.411 THz, demonstrating the ...

Microfluidic Valve‐Integrated Garment for Smooth Sequential Gradient Mechanotherapy
We present a soft wearable sleeve that delivers smooth, gap‐free compression using overlapping air‐filled actuators and tiny microfluidic valves. The system reduces bulk, lowers power needs, and uses a smartphone‐sized control box. It can provide sequential gradient compression, gradient pressure holding, and fast deflation, supporting more portable ...

Based on the validated LS‐DYNA model, this study carried out a series of simulations on Phosphogypsum‐Rock Wool‐Phosphogypsum (P‐RW‐P) sandwich lightweight partition wallboards under impact load. The effects of structural and impact load parameters on their impact performance of P‐RW‐P wallboards were systematically analyzed, providing a basis for the ...
