Identifying Donor Immune Cells in the Intestinal Mucosa of Chimeric Recipient Mice by Immunofluorescence

open access: yesCurrent Protocols, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Murine competitive congenic bone marrow transplantation is an important method used to identify genetic contributions to immune cell abundance, activation, differentiation, and mobilization, either in the bone marrow or in the peripheral organs of the host.

Coral size patterns across environmental gradients and morphologies

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Coral reefs are essential ecosystems that provide important ecological services and support the livelihoods of millions of people worldwide. Understanding the size structure of coral populations is critical for assessing recovery potential; yet, our knowledge of how environmental conditions influence coral size structure, across a range of ...

Vertical‐Component Seismic Response and System Identification of a 52‐Story High‐Rise Building Using Earthquake Data

open access: yesEarthquake Spectra, Volume 42, Issue 2, May 2026.
This study investigates the vertical dynamic response of a 52‐story high‐rise building in downtown Los Angeles using small‐magnitude earthquake data recorded by the Community Seismic Network. While seismic design traditionally emphasizes horizontal ground motion, vertical accelerations can have a significant impact on tall structures, leading to ...

Trial‐By‐Trial Changes in Neural Indices of Performance Monitoring Uniquely Correspond to Behavioral Adjustments During a Flanker Task

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 7, May 2026.
Trial‐by‐trial modeling revealed that neural variability in performance‐monitoring ERPs (N2, P3, ERN, Pe) predicts both the mean and variability of response times and mean accuracy in a flanker task. These findings show that fluctuations in brain activity reflect dynamic adjustments in cognitive control, linking neural variability to adaptive behavior.

Exploration of the Temporal Trends, Prevalence, and Factors of Acute Respiratory Infection or Diarrhoea: A Cross‐Sectional Analysis of Three National Surveys

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Numerous interventions have been targeted to reduce the burden of acute respiratory infection (ARI) and diarrhoea in Bangladesh. Both remain the leading causes of mortality in children under 5 (U5C). We aimed to examine the temporal trends, prevalence, and factors associated with ARI and diarrhoea using three nationally ...
