Calculation models of slabs with one-way connections

open access: yesВестник Дагестанского государственного технического университета: Технические науки
Objective. The aim of the study is to determine the performance characteristics of plate structures with one-sided connections. The paper considers issues that allow constructing calculation models of slabs on discrete supports and solid arrays with one ...

Present‐Day Upper‐Mantle Architecture of the Alps: Insights From Data‐Driven Dynamic Modeling

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2022
The dynamics of the Alps and surrounding regions is still not completely understood, partly because of a non‐unique interpretation of its upper‐mantle architecture.

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Adjustable slab-aberration compensator for high power slab laser

open access: yesOptics Express, 2020
An adjustable slab-aberration compensator (ASAC) with the ability to compensate the large magnitude inherent wavefront aberrations in the slab width direction is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The ASAC has a size of 130mm×45mm (effective aperture of 75mm×28mm) and 11 actuators along the length with a contact spacing of 8 mm.

Non-monotoic fluctuation-induced interactions between dielectric slabs carrying charge disorder

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate the effect of monopolar charge disorder on the classical fluctuation-induced interactions between randomly charged net-neutral dielectric slabs and discuss various generalizations of recent results (A. Naji et al., Phys. Rev. Lett.

Leakage of waves from coronal loops by wave tunneling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
To better understand the decay of vertically polarised fast kink modes of coronal loops by the mechanism of wave tunneling, simulations are performed of fast kink modes in straight flux slabs which have Alfvén speed profiles which include a tunneling ...

Modulating Electrochemical CO2 Reduction Pathways via Interfacial Electric Field

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Engineering interfacial electric fields in Cu/ITO electrodes enables precise control of CO2 reduction pathways. Charge transfer from Cu to ITO generates positively charged Cu species that steer selectivity from ethylene toward methane. This work demonstrates how interfacial electric‐field modulation can direct reaction intermediates and transform ...

Application of local binary patterns to surface defect recognition of continuous casting slabs

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2016
To solve the detection problems of slab surface defects by conventional image recognition algorithms, this article introduces an improved multi-block local binary pattern algorithm which considers the image's pixels. In this algorithm, the original image

On‐Surface Indigo‐Based Bimolecular Coordination Networks with Programmable Regular or Vitreous Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A previously unreported coordination motif stabilising single Fe atoms by indigo chelation and pyridyl coordination on Au(111) has been revealed. By using planar tritopic pyridyl linkers (TPyB), extended 2D porous networks of indigo3(TPyB)2Fe6 form. These networks can be crystalline or vitreous and offer an environment where individual coordination ...
