Evaluation of pregnancy planning and contraceptive methods in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus

open access: yesGülhane Tıp Dergisi
Aims: Women’s educational background plays a crucial role in family planning, chronic disease management, and treatment adherence. Chronic diseases and the use of rheumatological medications can raise various concerns, influencing family planning ...

Slc44a2 Deficiency Unveils an IFN‐I–Dependent Feedback Control of pDC Egress

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Working model of SLC44A2‐mediated maintenance of pDC homeostasis. This model illustrates two central mechanisms by which SLC44A2 regulates pDC homeostasis: (1) SLC44A2 limits IFN‐I production by exporting amino acids (T, N, Q), thereby preventing spontaneous pDC activation.

Cobalt Single‐Atom Nanozyme for Enhanced Intestinal Radioprotection and Tumor Radiosensitization via Bidirectional ROS Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Orally administered, pH‐responsive Co‐SAN exerts dual functions: in the alkaline intestinal milieu, it scavenges reactive oxygen species (ROS) and suppresses the PI3K/AKT pathway and NETs formation, thus providing radioprotection; whereas in the acidic tumor microenvironment, it generates ROS and alleviates hypoxia, thereby enhancing radiosensitization.

The minor allele rs2295613(A), protective against systemic lupus erythematosus, makes a differential contribution to the activity of the SLAMF1 gene promoter in T helpers and in regulatory T lymphocytes

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология
SLAMF1 (CD150) is a receptor expressed on various hematopoietic cells and involved in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

The IL‐10/IL‐6 Ratio and the Risk Score: Two Cytokines‐Based Predictors for Malignancy‐Associated Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis in Adults (M‐HLHa)

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The predictive value of cytokines (CK) for malignancy‐associated adult hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (M‐HLHa) remains uncertain. We evaluated a cytokine‐based Risk Score (RS) and the IL‐10/IL‐6 Ratio to predict M‐HLHa. Adult patients (n = 112) from the French HLH cohort (NCT02113917) with complete data for nine key HLH related CK measured

PTPN22 1858C > T polymorphism and susceptibility to systemic lupus erythematosus: a meta-analysis update

open access: yesAutoimmunity, 2017
Studies performed in the past years showed PTNP22 1858 C > T (rs2476601) polymorphism as associated with systemic lupus erythematosus susceptibility, although conflicting findings are still found.

Phenotypic profiling of pristane‐induced mimicking human systemic lupus erythematosus in Macaca fascicularis

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Pristane (5 mL/kg) induced a robust systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)‐like phenotype in Macaca fascicularis, marked by elevated antinuclear antibody (ANA) levels and systemic clinical, hematological, and biochemical changes. This model closely reflects human SLE and provides a translational platform for disease studies and therapeutic evaluation ...

Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension Is Characterized by a Distinct Proteomic Profile

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objectives The pathophysiology of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is poorly understood and disease‐specific biomarkers are lacking. We aimed to shed light on IIH pathophysiology and identify disease‐specific biomarkers. Methods This prospective cross‐sectional cohort study included patients with new‐onset IIH and age‐, body mass index‐, and ...

Peripheral Classic and Intermediate Monocyte Subsets as Immune Biomarkers of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Disease Activity

open access: yesActa Medica Indonesiana
Background: Monocytes are evolutionarily preserved innate immune cells that play essential roles in immune response regulation. Three activated monocyte subsets—classical (CD14++CD16–), intermediate (CD14++CD16+), and nonclassical (CD14+CD16++)—are ...
