Visualization features of canalis sinuosus with cone beam computed tomography
Introduction: One of the key stages of evaluating an edentulous ridge prior to dental implant placement is the analysis of neighboring anatomical structures such as canalis sinuosus (CS) with cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).

A conceptual cortical surface atlas. [PDF]
Volumetric, slice-based, 3-D atlases are invaluable tools for understanding complex cortical convolutions. We present a simple scheme to convert a slice-based atlas to a conceptual surface atlas that is easier to visualize and understand. The key idea is

Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Precise spatial and temporal control of oxygen within in vitro brain slices via microfluidic gas channels. [PDF]
The acute brain slice preparation is an excellent model for studying the details of how neurons and neuronal tissue respond to a variety of different physiological conditions. But open slice chambers ideal for electrophysiological and imaging access have

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

An Iterative Approach to Ground Penetrating Radar at the Maya Site of Pacbitun, Belize
Ground penetrating radar (GPR) surveys provide distinct advantages for archaeological prospection in ancient, complex, urban Maya sites, particularly where dense foliage or modern debris may preclude other remote sensing or geophysical techniques ...

Analysis of MRI Slices of Hamstring Avulsion Injury using Histogram [PDF]
Introduction: Hamstring avulsion injury can be defined as improper functioning of the hamstring muscles due to external stress or strain. The detachment of hamstring muscular region from the tendons occurs under severe conditions.

Evaluating the involvement of autolysosomes in the nuclear translocation of fluorescent proteins
Endogenously expressed fluorescent proteins can be degraded by autophagy and transported to cell nuclei via the nuclear pore complex. But in some cell lines, for example, HeLa cells which are positive for immunoreactivity of a receptor ligand, such as UCN I, in cell nuclei, fusion of autolysosome with the nuclear envelope is involved in the nuclear ...
