Multi Axes Sliding Mesh Approach for Compressible Viscous Flows [PDF]

open access: yesLecture Notes in Computer Science, 2020
To compute flows around a body with a rotating or movable part like a tiltrotor aircraft, the multi axes sliding mesh approach has been proposed. This approach is based on the unstructured moving grid finite volume method, which has adopted the space-time unified domain for control volume. Thus, it can accurately express such a moving mesh.

The Investigation of a Sliding Mesh Model for Hydrodynamic Analysis of a SUBOFF Model in Turbulent Flow Fields

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2020
A computational fluid dynamics (CFD)-based simulation using a finite volume code for a full-appendage DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) SUBOFF model was investigated with a sliding mesh model in a multi-zone fluid domain.

An efficient sliding mesh interface method for high-order discontinuous Galerkin schemes [PDF]

open access: yesComputers and Fluids, 2021
Sliding meshes are a powerful method to treat deformed domains in computational fluid dynamics, where different parts of the domain are in relative motion. In this paper, we present an efficient implementation of a sliding mesh method into a discontinuous Galerkin compressible Navier-Stokes solver and its application to a large eddy simulation of a 1-1/

Combining boundary‐conforming finite element meshes on moving domains using a sliding mesh approach [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 2020
AbstractFor most finite element simulations, boundary‐conforming meshes have significant advantages in terms of accuracy or efficiency. This is particularly true for complex domains. However, with increased complexity of the domain, generating a boundary‐conforming mesh becomes more difficult and time consuming.

TRIBOELECTRIFICATION OF EPOXY REINFORCED BY ALUMINIUM MESH [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Egyptian Society of Tribology, 2019
The aim of this study is to reduce electrostatic charge (ESC) generated from the walking of rubber shoes on epoxy floor. Aluminium (Al) mesh of different sizes has reinforced the epoxy, where the effect on the generation of the electrostatic charge (ESC)

Numerical investigation of the impact of wind turbine rotor on the passive cooler above nacelle

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
This paper investigates the impact of a wind turbine rotor on the passive cooler above a nacelle. In order to evaluate the suitability of the modeling approach, a comparison study is made between three modeling approaches, namely, the stationary model ...
