Disturbance attenuation–based sliding mode control with disturbance observer for mismatched uncertain system

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
A disturbance attenuation–based sliding mode control approach with an extended disturbance observer is proposed for systems with mismatched uncertainties. A novel adaptive sliding surface consisting of the disturbance estimation is presented to eliminate

Relay-Free Sliding Mode Control Technique based Power System Stabilizer for Single Machine Infinite Bus System

open access: yes, 2007
The paper presents a new method for design of power system stabilizer (PSS) based on relay-free sliding mode control technique. The control objective is to enhance the stability and to improve the dynamic response of the single machine infinite bus (SMIB)

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Application of Adaptive Sliding Mode Control with an Ellipsoidal Sliding Surface for Vehicle Distance Control

open access: yesSICE Journal of Control, Measurement, and System Integration, 2017
This paper proposes a sliding mode control with an ellipsoidal sliding surface for vehicle distance control. The performance of two different sliding surfaces, namely ones that are ellipsoidal and linear, is evaluated under the same conditions.

Adaptive Higher-Order Sliding Mode Control for Islanding and Grid-Connected Operation of a Microgrid

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
Grid-connected and islanding operations of a microgrid are often influenced by system uncertainties, such as load parameter variations and unmodeled dynamics.

Intelligent nonsingular terminal sliding-mode control via perturbed fuzzy neural network

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, an intelligent nonsingular terminal sliding-mode control (INTSMC) system, which is composed of a terminal neural controller and a robust compensator, is proposed for an unknown nonlinear system ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Convergence rate sliding mode control of permanent magnet synchronous motor based on expanded sliding mode observer

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Applied Science
The aim is to address the limitations of conventional sliding mode control for PMSM, namely the problems of sliding mode oscillation, load disturbance, and poor control accuracy. An improved sliding mode control strategy for PMSM is proposed based on the

Genetic-based sliding mode fuzzy controller design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we proposed a genetic-based sliding mode fuzzy controller design method to avoid the chattering phenomena in traditional sliding mode controller (SMC), and shorten the hitting time of the controlled system.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.
