PARTICULAR CHARACTERISTICS OF BABBIT B83, PRODUCED BY TURBULENT WAY OF CASTING
It is shown that the new turbulent way of casting of slip bearings not only removes liquating heterogeneities and qualitatively improves morphology of intermetallides in babbit B83, but also extends the possibilities of its application.

A Pressure Microsensor Made of Parylene‐C for Use as Medical Implant
A monolithic parylene‐C pressure sensor with gold strain gauges provides 6.2 μV$\mu{\rm V}$·mmHg$\cdot{\rm mmHg}$−1$^{-1}$ sensitivity. The morphology of a sputtered thin film strain sensor is granular/columnar, which results in a high gauge factor of 7.5. Thermal bonding and parylene‐C coating create a hermetic cavity.

Slip casting of hydroxyapatite ceramics
The processing of commercially available hydroxyapatite powder by atmospheric slip casting is discussed. Powders are heat t reated before use in order to increase the solids loading in suspensions. Mixtures are prepared in an attrition mill.
