Numerical analysis of low-Reynolds-number flow past an array of pillars with surface slip
In the development of micro- and nano-fluidic devices incorporating nanopillar structures to create nanoscale confined flow paths, it is important to consider the slip velocity on the pillar surface, which reflects the local wettability.

Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Effective Slip Lengths for Stokes Flow over Rough, Mixed-Slip Surfaces [PDF]
<p>In this thesis, homogenization and perturbation methods are used to derive analytic expressions for effective slip lengths for Stokes flow over rough, mixed-slip surfaces, where the roughness is periodic, and the variation in slip length has the same period.

Slip Length in Shear Flow Over a Textured Surface
Hydrophobic textured surfaces are studied for their low wettability and their capacity to create a ‘slippery’ fluid on the surface during lubrication.

Fundamental characteristics of flat thrust bearing with partial placement of slip areas
The pressure for supporting the bearing load is induced by the generation of discontinuity of the shear flow rate in each region only by arranging areas in the slip direction with different slipperiness of fluid.

Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,
