Inferring forms of glacier slip laws from estimates of ice-bed separation during glacier slip
Sea-level projections depend sensitively on the parameterization used for basal slip in glacier flow models. During slip over rock-beds, ice-bed separation increases with slip velocity and basal water pressure.

Weakening behavior of the shallow megasplay fault in the Nankai subduction zone
The Nankai Trough megasplay fault hosts diverse modes of fault slip, ranging from slow slip events to megathrust earthquakes, and is responsible for related phenomena such as tsunamis and submarine landslides.

Velocity slip on curved surfaces [PDF]
The Navier boundary condition for velocity slip on flat surfaces, when expressed in tensor form, is readily extended to surfaces of any shape. We test this assertion using molecular dynamics simulations of flow in channels with flat and curved walls and for rotating cylinders and spheres, all for a wide range of solid-liquid interaction strengths.

A Three-Dimensional Slip Velocity Model for Water-Lubricated Hydrodynamic Journal Bearings
Hydrodynamic journal bearings, coated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and lubricated by water, have been widely used in ships and large-scale pumps, and the function is to maintain the stability of rotor system.

A prediction model of flat belt slippage considering rigid-slip during power transmission
The purpose of this study is to propose an effective model for predicting the slip ratio of a belt transmission mechanism during power transmission, considering the different tensile stiffness of the drive belt.

Space and Time Evolution of the Rupture for the 2010 August 27 Mw 5.8 Kuh-zar earthquake [PDF]
This study investigated the spatiotemporal slip distribution of the 2010 August 27 Mw 5.8 Kuh-zar earthquake. Using the constrained non-negative least-squares linear slip inversion method, we calculated the amount of displacement on the fault plane.

Spectral-element modeling of spontaneous earthquake rupture on rate and state faults: Effect of velocity-strengthening friction at shallow depths [PDF]
We develop a spectral-element methodology (SEM) for simulating dynamic rupture on rate and state faults and use it to study how the rupture is affected by a shallow fault region of steady-state velocity-strengthening friction.

Temperature jump and slip velocity calculations from an anisotropic scattering kernel [PDF]
This article deals with the problem of temperature jump and slip velocity at the wall in gas/surface interaction. A consistent modelling of an impermeable surface involving an anisotropic scattering kernel developed in previous works is used to establish
